This is Wodehouse at full stride in Blandings Castle: secret engagements, social panic, imposture, and a stolen prize pig. Lord Emsworth holds Ronnie Fish's estate in trust, and convincing his vague but powerful benefactor to release Ronnie's share so he can marry Sue Brown will be no small feat. Ronnie Fish's plan is complicated enough before Sue arrives at Blandings Castle under a borrowed name. Then the Honorable Galahad Threepwood's shocking memoirs start threatening society reputations. Percy Pilbeam is ready to uncover chaos, eager to turn it into profit. The Efficient Baxter arrives as the no-nonsense hand of order, directly making the situation even worse. The enjoyment of the story is watching small deceptions grow into full-scale comic emergencies. Each hallway, garden path, and boudoir door at Blandings Castle seems to have a turn at another misunderstanding. This dramatized audiobook promises sparkling dialogue, romantic suspense with a light touch, and wonderfully foolish people colliding at exactly the wrong moments.
This book by P.G. Wodehouse is also under the title "Summer lightning".
