À propos de ce contenu audio

The next thrilling instalment in the Underworld Gods series. Perfect for listeners who want high steam Hades/Persephone and Beauty and the Beast vibes with a dark Nordic folklore twist.

All Hanna Heikkinen wants is to be reunited with her father again. After all, that's why she ventured into the dark and dangerous fantasy world of Tuonela, the Land of the Dead, in order to save his life. But this time her devotion to her father comes at a cost—her growing relationship with Tuoni, the God of Death himself, who held Hanna captive in exchange for her father's life. The last thing she expects is to feel remorse, yet the dark and sexy God is all she can think about.

Death has always prided himself on never trusting the living, but Hanna's apparent betrayal has left a scar fathoms deep. Vowing revenge on his future bride, and making sure she upholds her end of the bargain, Death sets out across his realm to steal Hanna back. But Death and Hanna aren't just fighting each other—malevolent Old Gods are rising to power within the realm, magic is being poisoned, and buried secrets are brought to light, secrets that may cause Hanna to lose everyone she loves dear once again.

I’m really sorry to Jo Raylan who does an amazing job and to Karina Halle who wrote a good book, but Death’s narrator was excruciating to listen to and I can’t in good conscience put more than 1* to the global performance note. I had to go at 2,1x speed and even then it wasn’t pleasant (constantly switching speed between chapters with different narrators was, well, hell). It’s not even the 90’s movie trailer voice. It’s the acting. It was awful (SO slow, so mannered, so unnatural and not in a nice god of death way). Death came off as a bad theater actor with airs of fake grandeur I wanted to punch all along when the chapters in themselves were more than okay. I can’t say nice. Worst part is they probably would have been nice had they not been read THIS WAY. I’m glad the third book isn’t out yet because I couldn’t have listened to another book like that. I’ll probably read the next one if it’s the same narrator to avoid it. Sorry. I usually don’t comment negatively as I don’t enjoy saying bad things about someone’s work but if you’re the author and read this please rethink your choice of narrator. I’m sure Mr de Leon has done and is capable of great things but this audiobook wasn’t it.

    AWFUL narrator

Bonne histoire mais terrible narrateur masculin. J'ai dû écouter les passages de Death en x1,7 pour que ça soit acceptable. Heureusement qu'il n'était pas le seul narrateur.

Bon livre mais performance très moyenne
