    Where are the goodies?

    The biggest problem I have with audible is the inability to access supplemental images and documents and other resources provided in the print version of the book, particularly in nonfiction. Can't a downloadable file or url be provided for accessing these files after purchase? The author refers to these items throughout the book and I just kept wondering what was the point of listening. Disappointed and annoyed.

    Saved my life

    I have always been skeptical of how CBT can be effective for treating depression. I have been on and off anti-depressants, self medicating with alchohol and financially irresponsible due to my partying habits. I was slowly falling into deep depression with no clear purpose in life. After listening to the first few chapters of the audiobook I picked up a notebook and a pen and decided to start putting in even more free time to do some of the homework and worksheets the book provides. By the end of the book I realized that anti-depressants where only a temporary cure , partying and bad financial habits are the main reason of my mental downfall. Also I have found new hobbies that I love and I became more financially responsible.I also feel like I can see colors again which is a clear sign the depression is gone. This book has worksheets and exercises that make understanding CBT and applying it by oneself easy, fun and not too time consuming. I advise anyone willing to explore CBT for depression , anger or anxiety to consider getting this book.

    Provided perspective and helped a lot.

    Loved this audible book. I took my time with it by listening to each chapter twice, and making the summaries the second time listening. The aim is not to get through the book quickly, but to really apply each chapter.
    I’m now listening to the book for the second time and adding to my summaries and information recorded.

    A point by point imitation of 'Feeling Good'

    Listening to this book after 'Feeling Good' brought to mind the work of mediocre students who, faced with the task of illustrating the ideas of a great thinker, lack the creativity to go beyond paraphrasing his words page by page

    Who chose this style of narration?

    This is my first incursion into CBT. Half way in, I like the content. But whose idea was it to select a 1960's Cold War newscaster inflection style? It makes it painful to listen to, as it's so out of character in the 21st century. I makes it sound like the narrator is making fun of the content. I have to abstract that in order to focus on the material!

    Good content. TERRIBLE narrator

    Dr. Gillihan present some very helpful content here. Unfortunately is absolutely ruined by a terrible narrator. As some other review said it’s like the voice of a 1950s educational film narrator: sing-song and condescending. And sloooow. I rarely listen at above normal speed, but I turned this up to 1.5 and it’s still felt like he was speaking at a normal pace. One of the worst narrations I have heard. And I listen to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts.
    It almost destroys anything that Dr Gillihan is trying to present. I do hope he sees this and considers recording with a new narrator.
    I do want to leave you with something positive. I believe there are good things to take away from this book, but I recommend getting it in hardcopy or at least Kindle and avoid the audible version at all cost.

    Poor narration but otherwise very compelling book

    lots of good tools to use and everyday life to reduce the ever spending mind. the narrator is not very lively and difficult to stay engaged

    This book skipped like 5 chapters in Audible

    This book skipped over 5 chapters in audible and I was not able to download the companion pdf document that compliments the reading with excersizes. Can someone fix this for me?

    Content was good, narrator was boring

    Great content, easy to understand and apply. Very helpful to personal life with easy to add daily activity suggestions. Content in itself is very mental health focused and naturally a little dry, so the narrators monotone stuffy voice did not pair well with keeping reader engaged in my opinion. Will reread because content was so useful.

    Really helpful

    This is one of the best personal development book I read. It is realistic, comprehensive, helpful. It’s hard to find a more adequate tool if you suffer from anxiety, depression, anger, procrastination. Thank you. I will read it again and again until I get skilled at the practices.
