    • 4 | How to Study the Bible: Keeping the Flame Burning
      Oct 1 2025

Have you ever opened your Bible and thought, “Where do I even start?” or “How do I understand this?” You’re not alone. In this episode, we’re diving into how to study Scripture in a way that helps you grow closer to God, hear His voice, and apply His truth to your everyday life.

We’ll talk about the difference between simply reading the Bible and actually studying it, why God’s Word is our guide (Psalm 119:105), and how He reminded Joshua to meditate on His Word day and night for strength and courage (Joshua 1:8). I’ll share my own journey of feeling unqualified when leading a Bible study, and how God’s Word gave me wisdom and confidence every step of the way.

Together, we’ll explore practical Bible study methods—from devotional reading and book studies to deeper tools like inductive, topical, character, and word studies. I’ll also walk you through simple frameworks like SOAP that can help Scripture feel approachable, even on your busiest days. You’ll leave with encouragement, tools, and fresh confidence to make God’s Word part of your daily rhythm.

This episode will remind you that the Bible is more than just a book—it’s God’s love letter to you, the very flame that lights your path and keeps your candle burning bright. I’ll challenge you this week to pick one study method, choose a passage, and let God meet you in His Word.

So grab your Bible, light your candle, cozy up with your favorite fall drink, and join me as we keep the flame burning—because her candle still burns, and His light never fades. ✨

    • 3 | The Word is the Flame to Our Candle
      Sep 24 2025

In this episode, we’re diving deep into the foundation of our faith: Scripture. Have you ever wondered what the Bible really is, how it was formed, who wrote it, and whether it can truly be trusted? Today, we’re starting a new Deep Bible Series to answer these important questions and explore why God’s Word is the flame that keeps our candle burning.

We’ll talk about what the Bible is—a unified story that points to Jesus from beginning to end—and how God used about forty different authors over 1,500 years to write His inspired Word. I’ll walk through the history of how the canon of Scripture was formed, what made certain books authoritative, and why we can have confidence in its accuracy today. We’ll also look at the Dead Sea Scrolls, translations, and why it matters that God’s Word has remained faithful across generations.

Along the way, I’ll share personal stories of how Scripture has strengthened me in moments of loneliness, guided me in my faith journey, and become the anchor I return to again and again. Together, we’ll reflect on the truth that the Bible is not just a book of ancient words, but the living Word of God that reveals His character, His story of redemption, and the way of salvation.

This episode will encourage you to see the Bible as more than just a text—it is the very flame that lights our path (Psalm 119:105). I’ll also challenge you to spend time daily in God’s Word and even try memorizing Psalm 119:105 this week as a reminder that His Word continues to guide us.

Grab your Bible, light your candle, cozy up with your favorite fall drink, and join me as we remember that her candle still burns—because His Word is the flame, and His light never fades. ✨

    • 2 | Shining Bright When the World Feels Dark
      Sep 17 2025

Welcome Back to Her Candle Still Burns Podcast!! In this episode, I open up about what it means to shine bright when the world feels dark. The past week has been heavy with heartbreaking events—from tragedies in our communities to spiritual attacks that shake us to our core. These moments remind us of the reality of darkness in the world, but also of the unshakable truth found in John 1:5: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

We’ll reflect on how God’s light continues to shine even in the middle of loss, fear, and confusion. I share one of my own experiences of being bullied but reacting in forgiveness rather than vengeance. Walking as a Christian in a world full of sin and opposition is never easy, but it is exactly in these moments that our light is needed most.

This episode also looks at the revival happening in people’s hearts right now. Even through pain and tragedy, many are opening their Bibles, stepping into churches for the first time, and seeking answers in Christ. God is using the darkest moments to stir up hope, faith, and transformation in powerful ways.

Together, we’ll walk through practical ways to reflect Christ’s light each day—by choosing forgiveness over bitterness, peace over chaos, and love over hate. Every small act of obedience and faith reflects the light of Jesus into a world desperate for hope.

No matter how dark it feels, the truth is this: God’s light is stronger. His truth shines through every shadow, and as His children, we are called to carry that light wherever we go. Grab your Bible, light a candle, and settle in as we remember that her candle still burns—because His light never fades. ✨
