Description

Collins French with Paul Noble combines an exciting new non-traditional approach to language learning with the easy, relaxed appeal of an audio-only product. No books. No rote memorisation. No chance of failure.

Paul Noble is a genius with a higher IQ than Einstein. Despite this, he still struggled with language learning at school. He found himself feeling ‘confused, incapable and unable to really say anything’. As a result of his negative early experiences, Paul has come up with a ground-breaking new method of language teaching that removes the need for months of study. With Paul Noble, everyone really can speak a language.

Part 1 of the course covers:

  • Language ground rules
  • The use of the past tense
  • Finding French words used in English
  • Asking questions
  • Essential vocabulary to use when booking into a hotel, taking a taxi, and eating out.

A native-speaking French expert helps Paul to deliver the course and to perfect your pronunciation. No complicated grammatical explanations, no rote memorisation, no writing - no stress.< /p>

Learn over 6,000 words in no time at all and - most importantly - learn how to make your new vocabulary work for you. (Use the accompanying booklet as a reference and revision tool.)

If I can learn French, anyone can

How I wish Paul Noble had been my foreign language professor in college. His teaching technique is brilliant. I’m actually speaking French after this level 1 audiobook.

best language courses

Paul Noble gives best language courses and at a super great price, too. In my opinion, Plimseur is similar but not as friendly and really just doesn't have same heart, so I'd prefer these; but Plimseur covers more languages and probably more in depth, so I rely on those for when these aren't available. Of course these are a lot cheaper as well, which makes me very happy.

Perfect learning tool

I loved this because it requires me to hear and repeat. It felt good being reminded not to memorize. I listened to it twice and actually feel ready to move on to the next course. Great help even for those who have tried other methods

great review

I struggled to learn French as a kid growing up in Canada, but I always wanted to learn it! I have taken a bunch of courses, all of which improves my French much more than in class teaching. recently I signed up for a French immersion course. I used this as a way to prep for it, and it was exceptional! I have some knowledge of French but my problem has always been in how to phrase the sentences and WHY you phrase it that way. this course is excellent for that reason! Paul explains why it's different and gives you cues to remember that it is different. I feel much more confident saying things now. I am excited do the next two audible segments!

Great approach to learning French!

Any additional comments?

This method presents French in a very accessible & rational way. He starts with some basic vocabulary and sentence structure and builds on it with (mostly) words that both French & English have in common. (The French-English words only vary by pronunciation and slight spelling differences.) He also gives helpful connections between words that are not of shared origin. This makes for learning through 'absorbing' rather than memorizing. And all of the vocabulary feels relevant. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into the material presented. The author narrates in a nice friendly voice and all of the French is spoken by a native speaker. I've bought the other audiobooks in the series and am finding them very beneficial.

Wow! Novel Approach to Learning

I've started to learn a second language countless times, but gave up. The old routine of learning tenses, pronouns, days of the week doesn't work! Paul Noble builds confidence from the start by using our inherit knowledge of French words from English. He uses the context of realistic conversation to build understanding and practice of common verbs, tenses and vocabulary. It is an enjoyable and effective format. I'm shocked at my rapid progress in understanding and speaking French.
