The Wrecking Squad

Captain Rebekah Khan and her ragtag crew of the repair ship Sunstar finally have a chance to pay off their crushing debts when an automining vessel goes rogue. After preventing the high value cargo from disappearing into the outer system, they uncover sabotage only a crew with their military experience would recognise.

Finding it filled with the barrel-scrapings of human and Senti origin, they step into a gang war over the missing tech with the hated Bustan Navy on the way.

Commanding a vulnerable navy and skeptical officers, Countess Segfi begins the hunt for the human/AI hybrid, risking everything as she attacks Daphene, where he first emerged as a threat.

Fracture an empire and expose the weakness at its heart … Rebekah and the crew of the Sunstar are persuaded to transport Senti defensive hardware to the fleets’ battleships by a desperate Countess Segfi. But the Butcher strikes, damaging the airless moonbase on Saim. Despite Rebekah’s instincts screaming it’s a trap, the Wrecking Squad can’t abandon those in need and mount a rescue. But when it snaps shut, thousands die breathless in an instant, a moment the Butcher shares with the Emperor's Court laced with a threat to the rest of the system's vulnerable colonies.
