William Barrow carries a dark secret. A very dark secret. An archivist for the Smithsonian Institute and a part-time operative for the CIA, no one would ever suspect the handsome "30-ish" William is the most reviled human being ever to walk the Earth. In this third installment of The Judas Chronicles, William Barrow (AKA Judas Iscariot) is faced with recovering the silver coin he dreads above all others. Known as the “Singing Coin” among the ancients, this shekel was initially lost long ago…on the very night of Jesus Christ’s arrest in Jerusalem. Hoping to save it for last, until after the other twenty-nine coins are recovered, Viktor Kaslow’s recent designs for the coin thwart William’s plan.

Free of the threat of Viktor Kaslow, William Barrow (a.k.a. Judas Iscariot) is tantalizingly close to finally having the life he has dreamed of with Beatrice and Alistair. But such optimism is short-lived. An ancient menace far worse than Kaslow has successfully tracked William and Roderick to Virginia after hunting the pair for nearly five hundred years. Hailing from the older kingdoms of Europe, this new threat once gained notoriety as the cruelest tyrant in recorded history: Vlad Tepes, better known as Vlad the Impaler.

Much is at stake, and for William, the painful realization that seeking to atone for his most famous sin upon the earth’s stage can’t guarantee lasting happiness.

William Barrow (aka Judas Iscariot) is faced with one of the most important decisions of his two-thousand-year stay on Earth. Should he leave well enough alone and seek a quiet retirement, having retrieved the first twenty-eight of the original thirty coins of silver paid to him for betraying Jesus Christ?
