Gregor Reinhardt

When German intelligence officer Captain Reinhardt is reassigned to a new branch of the military police, his position separates him from the allies he has made. This includes a circle of fellow dissenting Germans who formed a resistance cell against the Nazis. Reinhardt witnesses a massacre of civilians in Yugoslavia, only to discover there is more to the incident than anyone believes. World War II is over, and former German intelligence officer Captain Gregor Reinhardt has returned to Berlin, having been hired back onto Berlin's police force. When a man is found slain, Reinhardt embarks on a gruesome investigation. It seems a serial killer is on the loose, and matters only escalate when it's discovered that one of the victims was the brother of a Nazi scientist.

It's the final days of the Great War, and four years of grinding conflict has warped more than one man's mind. When a secret meeting of top brass is called someone sets off a bomb that kills all the attendees. It looks for sure that one of the men in Gregor Reinhardt's company is the culprit. But since that man killed himself, the general is looking for someone else to share the blame. Reinhardt must prove his trooper innocent if he hopes to avoid the fate of a co-conspirator.
