Welcome to 'Therapy Unzipped', where we unzip and unpack the complex world of mental health! Hosted by seasoned therapists Brett and Tom, we aim to demystify the processes and practices of mental health therapy, all with a dash of humor. With our lighthearted yet informative approach, we make mental health conversations accessible and approachable. We understand that discussing mental health can sometimes be intimidating, and we strive to break down those barriers. That's why our podcast focuses on answering common questions, addressing misconceptions, and providing clear, accurate, and practical information about mental health and therapy. Each episode dives into a wide range of topics – from understanding various mental health conditions and their symptoms to exploring different types of therapeutic techniques. We break down complex psychological concepts into easy-to-understand terms. We're not just addressing individuals dealing with mental health issues; we're also reaching out to their loved ones who seek to understand and provide support. We also invite experts in the field to share their insights and broaden our perspective on mental health matters. We delve into current research, trending topics, and even take a look at the cultural aspects that influence our understanding of mental health. One of our favorite segments in each episode is 'Question Time', where we answer questions from you, our listeners. We believe in creating a community where everyone feels heard, seen, and understood. In 'Therapy Unzipped', we don't shy away from the hard topics. We confront them with empathy, a wealth of professional knowledge, and yes, even some humor! We firmly believe that a little laughter can lighten the mood and make difficult conversations easier. Join us in our mission to unzip the complex world of mental health and therapy, break the stigma, and build a community of understanding. Tune in to 'Therapy Unzipped', where mental health meets humor, and let's make mental wellness a topic we can all talk about!© 2023 Hygiène et vie saine Psychologie Psychologie et psychiatrie

On this episode, Tom and Brett discuss small daily habits that will promote happiness in ypur life.

      1. They regulate before they react. They pause. They breathe. They respond instead of explode.

      2. They move their bodies consistently. Strength, walking, yoga, sweat — they treat movement as medicine.

      3. They protect their energy. They set boundaries. They say no. They avoid unnecessary drama.

      4. They invest in one or two deep relationships. Depth over quantity. Real connection over social noise.

This week: 7 Habits of Happy People- Undergrad Level

On this episode, Tom and Brett discuss small daily habits that will promote happiness in ypur life.

Daily Habits of Happy People Take a 2-minute pause upon waking. No phone. No rushing. Just breathe and orient yourself to the day. Capture one gratitude snapshot. One specific moment, person, or detail you appreciate — not generic, but real. Give one person a genuine compliment. Make someone feel seen. It strengthens connection and boosts your own mood. Move for 10 minutes. Walk, stretch, lift, yoga — short but intentional movement. Unplug for 15 minutes. No screens. No noise. Let your nervous system settle. Do a nightly brain dump. Write down worries, to-dos, lingering thoughts — clear mental clutter before sleep. Repeat your personal identity statement: “I am the kind of person who takes care of my happiness.”

Actionable steps: Be Kind and Be Respectful to one another.
