  • Friends, Time, and the Quiet Cull No One Talks About
    Apr 25 2026

When did catching up with friends start feeling like something you have to schedule three weeks in advance… and still cancel?

In your 20s, friendships just happened. Big groups, loose plans, anyone welcome. Now? Time is tight, energy is tighter, and suddenly every catch-up feels like an investment decision. Who gets your one free Thursday night? Who makes the cut? And what happens when you realise you might not make someone else’s list anymore?

In this episode, Tim and Sim talk about how friendships change as life gets fuller. The quiet pruning that happens. The shift from quantity to quality. And why the best friendships now aren’t the elaborate ones, they’re the easy ones. The ones where you can run errands together, sit in traffic, grab a coffee while doing something else… and somehow that counts more than a perfectly planned night out.

We get into what actually makes someone “your person”. (Hint: it’s not history.) Why aligned values matter more than how long you’ve known someone. And how a random car park laugh can lock someone into your life faster than 20 years of shared memories.

And yeah… sometimes friendships drift. Sometimes they go weird. Sometimes a “we should catch up” is exactly as empty as it sounds. That doesn’t make you a bad person. It just means things change.

If you’ve ever looked at your messages, your calendar, or your friend group and thought, “How did this all shift so much?”… this one’s for you.

  • The Guilt, The Gluttony And The Joy of Me Time
    Feb 8 2026

When is the last time you had some guilt-free me time? Whether it's feeling bad for taking the time to begin with or the guilt you feel afterwards, how can we create a healthy habit out of being a little bit selfish? In this episode, Tim and Sim talk about the relationship we have with ourselves, and why it’s so often the first one we neglect.

Now, self-care doesn’t have to mean massages, manicures, or reinventing your life. Sometimes it’s just an hour doing nothing in particular. Sometimes it’s an outlet that belongs only to you. And sometimes it’s realising that if you never get to regulate or recharge, everything else starts to suffer too.

So, if you find yourself trapped by the thought of wasting time, or freeze when you get a little bit of freedom, then it's time to start micro-dosing on some downtime and investing in your own happiness bank. Even if it’s just an afternoon bingeing Netflix or reading some good ol' fairy smut, looking after yourself shouldn’t feel this hard, this loaded, or this controversial. Take your time with this episode, this one’s for you.

  • Whinge, Rage, Repeat: Why Money Is on Everyone’s Mind Right Now
    Oct 29 2025

When did a banana turn into a bar of gold? Or a bag of grapes a luxury? We're deep in a cost-of-living crisis and the squeeze is causing pure, unrelenting rage often misdirected at our unsuspecting, lunchbox-leaving children who have no idea of the value of their leftovers.

This isn’t just a discussion about financial woes, it’s a raw, honest conversation about feeling the pinch, shielding kids from adult worries, and the shared anxiety that spans across communities and generations. We're experiencing a death by a thousand cuts while juggling side gigs, budgeting madly, and questioning every grocery item.

Although the stress is universal, sharing it lightens the load. So while we try to figure out this post-Covid, inflation-fueled minefield, Tim and Sim are in the trenches with you. If you’re feeling squeezed, worried, or just need to let off steam about the cost of living, this episode is for you. And whoever solves the banana crisis first, the next bottle of Aldi wine is on us. 🍷
