      Today I am giving you a crash course in coaching! As an professional educational coach and trainer in my full time day job I have spent the last 10 years honing my coaching skill set and I have transferred that skill set to my business.

      Coaching is just a cycle- observe, gather data, reflect with your team, give feedback- repeat. I believe coaching is the most important skill a leader can learn. It builds self-efficacy and independence in the person you are working with.

      Here are some things to consider I talk about in this episode:

      • What coaching is and is not
      • The difference between directive and reflective coaching
      • What types of questions to ask and when
      • How to not move into “giving advice”
      • How to work through the whole coaching process with a team member
      • How to build accountability along the way
