The Splash Stories podcast celebrates the 90's music scene and the influence of London’s infamous Splash Club venue which was to London what CBGB’s was to New York in 90’s UK. Splash Stories takes in the stories, the bands, the live shows and talks to the people on the scene, the fans, the journalists, the fashions and the wider entertainment industry. Backstage stories and interviews behind the shows at the Venue from- Oasis,Travis,Skunk Anansie, Placebo, Feeder, Moby, Weezer, Bush, Beck, Therapy Echobelly,Goo Goo Dolls, Weller, OCS ...the list goes on.... and with the celebrated scenesters from photographers, managers Dj's & journalists and those who were there and the backtale of the struggle behind building the venue whose star was to burn so brightly it took 23 fire engines to put it out.And that's just the start we celebrate the future of all our guests and always the stories...

      Splash Stories welcomes vocalist and art historian David McAlmont for our June edition.

      David left the UK in 1978 when his family moved to Guyana in South America skipping the whole punk rock scene completely in the process before returning to read performing arts at Middlesex Polytechnic.

      His music career kicked off when he signed a publishing contract with Chrysalis Music in 1992 and gained recognition with London band Thieves. He then went solo securing a record deal with Virgin's Hut Records in 1994 and It was at this time that McAlmont performed live at The Splash Club to critical acclaim. Music Newspaper Melody Maker journalist Taylor Parkes commented at the time : "One day he will open his mouth and a cathedral will fall out."

      We caught up with David to celebrate his past work with Bernard Butler and to discuss his new album Twilight with one of Splash Stories previous guests Hifi Sean. This summer sees David also playing Wall to Wall Bowie live on Aug 10 at Ronnie Scott's London.

      Ben Steadman & Diamond Dave caught up with Colin Doran lead singer of post hardcore / emo / Hampshire rockers Hundred Reasons.

      The hard working band called it quits after six top-40 hit singles and two top-20 hit albums and sign off with a banging headline show at The Royal Albert Hall on May 7 2025.

      Colin talks from the heart & tells it like it is. “We have seen bands run themselves into the ground and it’s not something we’ve ever felt okay with…”

      Their last headliner show promises to be a fitting send off and last hurrah for fans and band alike since their formation 26 years ago back in 1999.
