  • The Splash Stories podcast celebrates the 90's music scene and the influence of London’s infamous Splash Club venue which was to London what CBGB’s was to New York in 90’s UK. Splash Stories takes in the stories, the bands, the live shows and talks to the people on the scene, the fans, the journalists, the fashions and the wider entertainment industry. Backstage stories and interviews behind the shows at the Venue from- Oasis,Travis,Skunk Anansie, Placebo, Feeder, Moby, Weezer, Bush, Beck, Therapy Echobelly,Goo Goo Dolls, Weller, OCS ...the list goes on.... and with the celebrated scenesters from photographers, managers Dj's & journalists and those who were there and the backtale of the struggle behind building the venue whose star was to burn so brightly it took 23 fire engines to put it out.And that's just the start we celebrate the future of all our guests and always the stories...

      Your Splash Stories hosts Ben Steadman & Diamond Dave caught up with the whirlwind that is Frank Turner for his Splash Story.
      After disbanding post hardcore band Million Dead in 2005 punk folk rocker Frank Turner is well on the way to performing 3000 shows . He releases his self produced 10th album Undefeated - "a record about survival & defiance with a sense of fun "on May 3 2024. The album was recorded at his home on Mersea Island Essex backed by The Sleeping Souls Released through indie label Xtra Mile Recordings & it draws inspiration from Black Flag,Counting Crows, Descendents, The Pogues, Elvis Costello & Billy Bragg.
      Frank made waves following George Thorogood & The Melvins lead by playing 50 states in 50 days in 2022.
      In 2024 Frank is attempting the first ever MVT World Record attempt for the most gigs played in different cities in 24hrs!
      Every show is in a Music Venue Trust associated grass roots venue and associated with an independent record store.

Mel was Simple Minds Drummer & has played alongside Elton John, Lou Reed, Tina Turner, Meat Loaf, Kirsty MacColl, Orange Juice, Peter Gabriel, The Pretenders, Gary Moore, Jackson Browne, Little Steven, Goldie, Robert Palmer, Joan Armatrading & has sold over 60 million records during his 35-year career.

      He talks to Splash Stories about his newly signed label deal with Marquee Records, ..and with Mr Addicted to Love - Robert Palmer .. and his debut solo single Run - the first track off his debut studio album Come With Me.
