Episode 11 | Soraya Kelly on Wales' U23 Campaign, Alice Griffiths' Retirement & Plymouth Argyle Women's Crisis

This week on Sis, Nobody Asked For This, we're joined by special guest Soraya Kelly, who discusses her campaign for the Football Association of Wales to introduce a Wales Women's U23 team, creating a crucial bridge in the international pathway for young players aspiring to represent their country.

We also discuss the shock retirement of young Welsh footballer Alice Griffiths and what it says about the challenges facing players in the women's game. Plus, we look at the highlights from the FAW National League Awards and celebrate some of the outstanding talent across Welsh football.

Importantly, we dive into the situation surrounding Plymouth Argyle Women, where players were informed via email that their contracts would not be renewed following budget cuts. We ask the difficult question: why does it so often seem that women's teams are the first to bear the brunt of financial decisions in football?

As always, it's just two sisters talking honestly about football, the stories that matter, and the issues shaping the women's game.

  • Adran Season Review
    May 4 2026

Episode 10 marks a special milestone for us as we wrap up the 25/26 season. A campaign full of drama, growth, and defining moments across the league.

We kick things off by reliving one of the most incredible matches of the season: a historic South Wales derby Welsh Cup Final that had everything. From a stunning comeback to the tension of penalties, it was football at its very best. We also celebrate the moment Hannah lifts the trophy in front of daughter Nelly and her family and how much it means to win silverware.

The conversation then shifts to the broader landscape of the league, where we break down the growing gap between the top four and bottom four sides. Investment continues to play a huge role, and we explore what that means for the future competitiveness of the league and how the league can close that gap?

We shout out to Cardiff met on their bounce back to top flight football and we discuss the challenges they’ll face stepping up to the top flight and what they’ll need to do to survive and compete.

We also take time to congratulate Wrexham on an extraordinary season, securing the double in what will go down as a historic first league triumph. It’s a huge achievement and a sign of what ambition and backing can deliver.

This episode also includes a heartfelt tribute to Stacey John, who retires after 14 incredible years at Swansea. Alongside that, we reflect on the announcement from Wales legend and all-time great Jessica Fishlock, whose retirement marks the end of an iconic era for Welsh football.

As always, we highlight standout performers across the league, giving shoutouts to players who have consistently impressed and made their mark this season and the politics of team of the week selections.

We don’t shy away from controversy either, sharing our thoughts on recent incident if hair pulling across the game, is it violent conduct and how do we stamp it out?

Looking ahead, we chat about what the off-season holds for Hannah, both on and off the pitch, before rounding off with congratulations to Cardiff City men on their promotion.

A milestone episode filled with reflection, celebration, and honest discussion - the perfect way to close out the season.
