    What happens when we run from God—and what if His mercy extends to the very people we believe deserve judgment?

    In Part 3 of our Bible study on Jonah, Reagan Kramer continues exploring Jonah chapter 1, revealing the consequences of disobedience, the sovereignty of God, and the surprising faith of a group of pagan sailors who encounter the power of the one true God.

    When Jonah refuses God’s call to preach to Nineveh, he boards a ship headed in the opposite direction. A violent storm puts everyone aboard in danger, and Jonah eventually admits that his disobedience is the cause. But while Jonah is willing to face death rather than see his enemies receive mercy, the sailors respond with fear, prayer, and ultimately worship of the Lord.

The Greek word “escha” means last or farthest away.There are many different views and words for this study. Specifically, Jenny views it as the “last days.”Like many others, Reagan and Jenny have been exposed to the fear of the end times that Hollywood and society have perpetuated.However, the book of Revelations isn’t about fear. It is about the revealing of Jesus Christ. [06:55] Jenny: “Revelation is ‘the revealing of’… It means the revealing of Jesus Christ. It is about Jesus. When you look at Revelations with those lenses of ‘Where are we seeing him revealed?’ your view starts to change.” It reveals the New Covenant and what that means for us, believers.[07:23] The Major Views of the End TimesThe dispensational view looks at Revelations at different times. From the growth of the Church to the 7-year peace agreement of the Antichrist and Jesus’ return to reign and end all evil. The Church is raptured before, in the middle, or after the 7-year tribulationAmillennialism believes that Jesus reigns right now. There will be no rapture and the Church waits for Jesus’ second coming and then eternity.A preterist view believes the Revelations were fulfilled in the first century. A partial preterist believes that it has mostly been fulfilled and only awaits the return of Jesus.Other views include historical, post-millennialism, futurism, and idealism. She believes that Jesus is reigning in the present. She started reading Revelations and felt uneasy about how some things didn’t make sense.She discovered that the 7-year tribulation theology came from Daniel's 70 Weeks prophecy.     Running From God? What Jonah Teaches Us About Obedience, Mercy & Your Calling

    What if the story of Jonah is about far more than a man and a great fish?

    In this episode of Revelations Podcast, Reagan Kramer begins a new Bible study through the Book of Jonah and discovers a powerful story about obedience, rebellion, God's mercy, spiritual warfare, and the incredible purposes He has for our lives.

    Before diving into Jonah, Reagan explores the “sword of the Spirit” from Ephesians 6 and why the Word of God is one of the most powerful weapons we have against the enemy. She shares how Scripture reveals the truth about God, about ourselves, and about our identity in Christ—and how knowing that truth can keep us from being led astray.

    Then we enter the story of Jonah. Why did God send Jonah to Nineveh? Why did Jonah run in the opposite direction? And what does his resistance reveal about our own tendency to run from difficult assignments or people we don't think deserve God's mercy?

    Reagan takes a closer look at Nineveh, its history and pagan culture, Jonah's calling as a prophet, and the significance of Jesus referring to Jonah. She also explores one of the most challenging questions raised by the story: Do we believe God's mercy is available even to people we think are too far gone?

Through a series of unexpected confirmations, she realized she needed to seek God rather than simply walk away—and discovered the blessing that came from saying yes to His calling.
