    • 5. Cemetery Man (1994)
      Jul 11 2024

Daniel and Linas take their shovels out and dig into the burial grounds of the Italian horror genre before the main entrée: Michele Soavi's sexy, stylish and befuddling Cemetery Man. Spoilers definitely ahead. Later Linas (aka the Lithuanian Jigsaw) puts Daniel to the test once more with another nerdy film game. Can Daniel prevail or will he be sleeping with the fishes??

Daniel's note on Taste of Cherry: Kiarostami didn't directly pull a gun out on his actors but he did place one in the glove compartment for the actor to be startled at. Unlike Dellamorte, he did not need Gnaghi to fetch him one.

    • 4. Our Top 10 Experimental Directors
      Apr 13 2024

Daniel and Linas finally tackle the content everyone has been clamoring for. They list their individual top 10 experimental filmmakers. They attempt to explain the unexplainable, intellectualize simple pretty images, convince their podcast audience they're not completely insane (doubtful). Oh and afterwards Linas subjects Daniel to another surprise Saw trap. Can Daniel escape alive again?? Or is he uploading this from beyond the grave?

Also take a shot every time Daniel says the word "frenetic."

    • 3. Tier Ranking Some Film Movements
      Mar 3 2024

In this episode, Linas and Daniel tier rank some historical film movements in terms of how we would recommend them for a newcommer, while also taking potshots at Zoomers (despite us mostly being them). We look at 7 in particular: New Hollywood, French New Wave, German Expressionism, Taiwanese New Wave, Japanese Golden Age, Italian Neorealism, and the Czechoslovak New Wave. So as you can see, listening to this will definitely be the equivalent of acquiring a bachelor's in film studies! We may revisit and expand on this ranking in the future with more movements in the future, so stay tuned eventually for your master's degree...
