  • BONUS Episode: 2024 Comeback!
    Dec 28 2023

Hey Lean Crew! Kare here, and I'm stoked to drop a quick bonus episode as we rev up for the epic comeback of 'Lean with Kare' in 2024.

2023's been a wild ride. I kicked off the year on a break, focusing on health and self-loving vibes. Then, February hit with an unexpected injury, sending me on an extended break.

Ignoring doc's orders, I powered through, holding onto my fav event, only to face my first-time failure. Ugh, scream, grunt, sigh Tough stuff, but mid-year, I had an epiphany: stop forcing, start flowing.

As a project management student, easier said than done. Letting go of control felt like uncharted territory. But in that space, magic happened.

I channeled energy into birthing a non-profit and nailed the 2nd Annual Brampton Latin Fest with an incredible team of badass Latinas. Letting go opens doors to the Universe's gifts.

Yeah, it's scary as hell, but trust me, it's damn worth it. You'll get why some things didn't work eventually past the discomfort.

Cheers to lessons, resilience, and unexpected blessings. 'Lean with Kare' roars back in 2024, loaded with wisdom and triumph tales.

Can't wait to roll this journey with you. Thanks for the patience and epic support. Until then, stay focused (tunnel vision, baby), stay strong (cuz you a baddie), and remember, your story matters. Catch you in 2024!

  • S4 E1: Breathe. Ask Wait. Feel. (with Tara McCrory)
    Sep 9 2022

Tara is a projector - based on human design modalities. Not being able to feel her gut instincts led her to spiral into confusion which ultimately catapulted her into a 7+ year journey nurturing and connecting to her Higher Self.

Where Tara feels most fulfilled is when she can help guide people to that same level of clarity by teaching clients about their intuition, teaching them how to connect & how to use discernment. How does she do this? By sharing tools & practises that have worked for her and helped her unlock her truest potential. Oftentimes we forget that the answers are all within us, literally. They’re within our grasp so long as we’re asking the right questions and listening to our bodies.

Tara explains that aligning with your True North & your values will be met with resistance because it’s a complete shock to our system & those that you set boundaries with. Breathe through it. Boundaries are a set of core values that you set when you know your worth. Honour them.

Here are some of my biggest takeaways from our recording session:
It’s going to hurt if you stay and it’s going to hurt if you go. Which pain will give you the most growth?
It’s important to recognize that we are multi-purposeful beings and our purposes in life are as cyclical as our evolvement.

When was the last time you had a sacred soul conversation? If you feel the nudge, chime into S4 E1 to tune into Tara’s wise sage. Click the link in the bio to hear the full episode on all your favorite podcast platforms. 🎧🎙☝🏽

  • S3 E4: Veronica DelCarmen - She Fed Bellys & Hearts
    Nov 4 2021

My name is Karen Lissette. I’m the founder of Open for Business Hub. A for-profit social enterprise that’s passionate on supporting our local small business community through personal development & experiential opportunities to network, scale their business and connect with their ideal customers. Most recently we began focusing on mentoring our future leaders and entrepreneurs to give them the resources and skill sets they need to conduct business with excellence. During the pandemic I also birthed another business baby. More details to come with our official launch. I'm also the host of this podcast, Lean with Kare where I advocate for mental wellness. Why? Because I've lived through some pretty intense and severe traumatic experiences and understand what it is to live with anxiety & have been affected by depression and ptsd. Healing from grief or learning coping strategies for any of the conditions and symptoms I live with hasn't been easy as the roadmap isn't linear. Through the podcast I'm able to share my lived experiences & how I've been able to grow from them.

  • S3 E2: The Eagle Flies with the Condor with Guest Elena Garcia
    Oct 14 2021

In this episode Elena and I talk about how Elena’s childhood impacted her to make the decision to dive into her journey of decolonization. Growing up being constantly compared to her sister & made to feel less than for not having light eyes and fair skin played a huge role into her insecurities and feelings of unworthiness. Her trauma was the catalyst that led to her healing journey finally acknowledging her disassociation with the European influence & honouring her skin complexion, her dark hair, her nose & her features which are her true beauty. Her goal is to continue advocating everyone’s individual beauty. Once embarking on her unlearning she also began trekking through the murky waters of “chancla culture” to ensure that she was able to break generational traumas to give her daughters a better chance at assimilating with their truths. As a result of her abuse she’s returned back to healing through art. Beading has become her medicine & she’s made it her mantra to pass on her healing to you as well.
