From Patient to Founder: What Ngoni Built From Her Illness

In episode one, we heard what Ngoni's illness took from her. Today, we talk about what she decided to build from it.

Nyasha is back with her sister to unpack Chiedza Innocents a recovery ecosystem powered by AI. It's more than a mobile app: it brings together speakers, coaches, journals, books, poetry and, soon, novels, all designed as tools for recovery.

Ngoni walks us through the two frameworks she's registered. The SAFER framework focuses on safeguarding and self-awareness for young people and is being rolled out with Nzimande Foundation in South Africa. The Aftercare Mandate is built on three principles: believe people when they say they're not well, track their progress, and keep the care going.

We talk about the aftercare gap, why "text me if you need me" isn't enough, and how better ongoing support helps patients, families, employers, universities and the NHS.

Not the Founder, the Sister: Ngoni's Story Begins

You might know her as an award-winning founder, author and speaker. Today, Nyasha sits down with Ngoni as her sister.

In this first episode of The Gentle Resolve, we go back to where it all started: a house full of singing and laughter in Zimbabwe, a grandmother who taught her everything about God, womanhood and faith, and a move to London in 2012 after their father's stroke.

Ngoni shares how debate and public speaking led her to become a junior member of parliament, how the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy sparked her love of business, and how she went from studying accounting and finance to landing a place on the 100 Black Interns programme and building a career in investment management.

And then, before her illness changed everything, we ask the question that matters most: if you took away every achievement, what's still true about you?
