You'll hit 43 degrees, but that northwest wind at 10 miles an hour makes it feel like 28 around 8 A.M. Tonight? Rain and snow continue with lows near 32. Push into the mountains and it's a different world. A Winter Storm Watch is up for the Central Mountains — 6 to 14 inches could pile up through Friday. Highs today barely crack 34 degrees, with wind chills in the teens this morning. Parleys Canyon? Take it slow. Down in Southern Utah, it's practically spring. That rain mixes with snow by late evening, peaking around 11 P.M. It lingers into your Thursday morning commute, so expect a slushy, messy drive — especially east of I-20. Tonight's low holds at 34 degrees. And tomorrow only climbs to 43. Head into the mountains. And it's a completely different world. Snow starts late tonight and piles up quickly. We're looking at 1 to 3 inches by Thursday morning, then another 2 to 4 inches Thursday night. The Central Mountains are under a Winter Storm Watch — 6 to 14 inches is possible through Friday. But enjoy this taste of sunshine. Because a classic Utah rebound is coming. In the next 24 hours. Today tells two different stories across the state. The Wasatch Front climbs to 61 degrees this afternoon — that's running about 18 degrees warmer than usual. Down in St. George, you're looking at a gorgeous 74. If you head up into the mountains, it's a cooler 52, but still plenty pleasant for a hike. The calm ends tonight. A cold front sweeps through after 8 P.M. Rain mixes with snow along the Wasatch Front by 11 P.M., continuing overnight as temperatures drop to 34 degrees. Up in the mountains, snow starts falling around 8 P.M. and really picks up intensity. Expect 1 to 3 inches by morning, with wind chills feeling like 20 degrees at daybreak. Thursday brings the real impact. Valley locations along the Wasatch Front top out at just 44 degrees with rain and snow likely. The mountains get hammered — another 2 to 4 inches during the day. There's a Winter Storm Watch in effect for the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains. We're talking total accumulations of 8 to 14 inches, up to 20 inches in the Cottonwoods, through Friday afternoon. Southern Utah stays mild with 59 degrees and just a slight chance of rain on Thursday. Friday lingers with scattered snow showers in the north before we dry out for the weekend. Saturday and Sunday look sunny with highs rebounding to the upper 40s and 50s along the Wasatch Front. By Monday, we're back to 64 degrees. Sunday stays mostly cloudy with another round of rain and a high of 63 degrees. Now drive south to St. George and you're in a completely different world. Mostly sunny skies push you to 79 degrees today. Sunday gets even warmer at 82 degrees. No rain in sight for you all weekend. Up in the mountains, partly sunny skies take you to 52 degrees. Rain chances kick in after 2 P.M. Overnight lows hold at 36 degrees. Sunday brings more clouds and a coin flip on rain. Here's your week ahead. High pressure's sliding in with a gift that feels more like April than late February. Along the Wasatch Front, any leftover showers wrap up by 8 A.M. Then sunshine takes over. You're hitting 55 degrees this afternoon — perfect excuse for a lunchtime walk. Tonight drops to 37 under partly cloudy skies. Now drive south to St. George. Completely different universe down there. You're looking at 80 degrees under full sun. That's nearly 30 degrees warmer than normal. Tonight stays mild at 48 with clear skies. Sunburn weather in February.. Up in the mountains, a few rain and snow showers hang around early this morning. Best chance hits around 4 A.M. with nearly a coin flip on precipitation. By afternoon, you dry out and climb to 46 degrees. Fair warning though — it'll feel like 29 around 8 A.M., so layer up if you're heading out early. Tonight clears to 30 degrees.
