In the next 24 hours., A cold front barrels through tonight, bringing a rude awakening. Along the Wasatch Front, rain arrives after 8 P.M. That rain mixes with snow by late evening, peaking around 11 P.M. It lingers into your Thursday morning commute, so expect a slushy, messy drive — especially east of I-20. Tonight's low holds at 34 degrees. And tomorrow only climbs to 43. Head into the mountains. And it's a completely different world. Snow starts late tonight and piles up quickly. We're looking at 1 to 3 inches by Thursday morning, then another 2 to 4 inches Thursday night. The Central Mountains are under a Winter Storm Watch — 6 to 14 inches is possible through Friday. Wind chills there dip to 18 degrees by morning. Down in Southern Utah? You escape the chaos. Skies stay mostly clear tonight with a low near 44. Thursday brings sunshine and a high of 59 degrees. Not bad for early March. In Here's your heads-up for week ahead, this storm lingers through Friday, then high pressure takes over. Saturday turns sunny statewide. By Monday, the Wasatch Front hits 63 degrees and Southern Utah surges to 76. That's running a solid 15 degrees warmer than usual. Tonight's full moon will have to fight through clouds along the Wasatch, so you might catch a break down south. Just watch out for that slick commute Thursday morning.
