  • Idaho Weather March 5 Morning - 25° Above Normal
    Mar 5 2026
Good morning. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly. Eastern Idaho is getting hammered right now. Snow came down heavy overnight from Pocatello north to Rexburg. You're looking at 1 to 2 inches already on the ground. And it's not done yet. The morning commute is a mess, so slow down and give yourself extra time. That snow flips to rain this afternoon as temperatures climb to 39 degrees. The Centennial Mountains and Island Park? They're in for the real show — another 4 to 7 inches before this wraps up. A Winter Weather Advisory runs until 3 P.M. There. In the next 24 hours. And the wind. The Magic Valley and South Hills are getting absolutely blasted with gusts to 55 miles an hour through this evening. That's the kind of wind that'll toss your trash cans into next week. Treasure Valley catches a break today. A slight chance of mixed precipitation this morning, then partly sunny with a high near 49 degrees. Winds gust to 26 miles an hour this afternoon. Tonight, skies clear and temperatures drop to 30 degrees. Northern Idaho sees patchy fog this morning with a chance of rain. Highs reach 48 degrees. Rain and snow chances linger tonight with a low of 33 degrees. Friday brings calmer conditions statewide. Treasure Valley hits 50 degrees under partly sunny skies. Eastern Idaho clears out with a high of 42. Northern Idaho stays unsettled with rain chances hanging around. The weekend looks fantastic. Temperatures climb into the mid-50s Saturday and could hit 64 degrees in the Treasure Valley by Sunday. That's about 25 degrees above normal for early March. Spring is knocking on the door — we're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight each day now. If you're heading out this morning. The wind makes everything feel colder than it's. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Idaho Weather March 4 Evening - Winter Weather Advisory
    Mar 5 2026
Good evening. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly. That steady drumming on your roof? That was about a third of an inch of rain overnight. And the sky isn't finished yet. A cold front is charging through right now, slicing the state into two different worlds. In the next 24 hours. Down in the Treasure Valley, you're sitting at 36 degrees with more rain on the way. Here's the strange part — thunderstorms develop after 9 P.M. Tonight. That's pretty wild for early March. Some of those storms could pack gusty outflow winds to 45 miles an hour. You hold at 36 degrees tonight. Push east and the story turns wintry fast. Eastern Idaho is right at 32 degrees where rain mixes with snow overnight. The Bear River Range takes the hardest hit — expect 6 to 12 inches of snow through Thursday night. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect, so Thursday morning's commute could get messy along the Snake River Plain. Up north. Northern Idaho lands in the middle. You're at 36 degrees with rain chances lingering through Thursday. No major piles of snow, but you'll want that umbrella nearby. Thursday afternoon brings a dramatic change. Skies clear from west to east. Treasure Valley warms to 49 degrees with gusty northwest winds. Eastern Idaho stays cooler at 41 degrees with snow showers tapering off. The week ahead tells a much nicer story. Highs climb into the mid-50s by Saturday. Sunday looks fantastic — 63 degrees in the Treasure Valley with mostly sunny skies. That's about 24 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Another system rolls in early next week, bringing rain and mountain snow back by Tuesday. One last thing — tonight's full moon has a fight on its hands trying to shine through these clouds. Sunrise is at 7:17 A.M. and we're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight every day. Spring is getting close. Charge your phone before you sleep tonight. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Idaho Weather March 4 Morning - 26° Above Normal
    Mar 4 2026
Good morning. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly. You step outside right now and it feels downright springlike with that mild 51 degrees. But don't get comfortable. A strong cold front is barreling through Idaho today. And it's bringing a little bit of everything. In the next 24 hours. The Treasure Valley sees the most drama. Thunderstorms fire up by late morning with gusts hitting 23 miles an hour. We're talking a quarter to half an inch of rain, followed by a brutal temperature crash. You'll drop from 54 degrees this afternoon down to 35 by morning. That's a 26 degrees-degree freefall. Head north and it's just a solid soaker. Northern Idaho stays stuck in the 40s with steady rain through this evening. You could see up to half an inch up there. Eastern Idaho starts quiet with partly sunny skies and highs near 54. But tonight the rain flips to snow. Valley accumulations stay light, but the Bear River Range gets hammered — 6 to 12 inches of snow above pass level. A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in at 11 P.M. Tonight. Thursday turns blustery statewide. Northwest winds crank up, gusting to 50 miles an hour from Mountain Home eastward. A Wind Advisory is posted for the Upper Treasure Valley. Magic Valley. And Camas Prairie from 11 A.M. To 8 P.M. Thursday. The weekend looks much nicer. High pressure builds in. Saturday warms to the mid-50s. Sunday? We could hit 64 degrees in Boise — that's about 26 degrees above normal for early March. Spring equinox is just 16 days away. And Sunday will feel like it. Another cold front arrives early next week, but until then. Enjoy tonight's full moon between the rain showers. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
