Good morning. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly. You step outside right now and it feels downright springlike with that mild 51 degrees. But don't get comfortable. A strong cold front is barreling through Idaho today. And it's bringing a little bit of everything. In the next 24 hours. The Treasure Valley sees the most drama. Thunderstorms fire up by late morning with gusts hitting 23 miles an hour. We're talking a quarter to half an inch of rain, followed by a brutal temperature crash. You'll drop from 54 degrees this afternoon down to 35 by morning. That's a 26 degrees-degree freefall. Head north and it's just a solid soaker. Northern Idaho stays stuck in the 40s with steady rain through this evening. You could see up to half an inch up there. Eastern Idaho starts quiet with partly sunny skies and highs near 54. But tonight the rain flips to snow. Valley accumulations stay light, but the Bear River Range gets hammered — 6 to 12 inches of snow above pass level. A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in at 11 P.M. Tonight. Thursday turns blustery statewide. Northwest winds crank up, gusting to 50 miles an hour from Mountain Home eastward. A Wind Advisory is posted for the Upper Treasure Valley. Magic Valley. And Camas Prairie from 11 A.M. To 8 P.M. Thursday. The weekend looks much nicer. High pressure builds in. Saturday warms to the mid-50s. Sunday? We could hit 64 degrees in Boise — that's about 26 degrees above normal for early March. Spring equinox is just 16 days away. And Sunday will feel like it. Another cold front arrives early next week, but until then. Enjoy tonight's full moon between the rain showers. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
