Good morning. Idaho. I'm Aaron Jolly. Eastern Idaho is getting hammered right now. Snow came down heavy overnight from Pocatello north to Rexburg. You're looking at 1 to 2 inches already on the ground. And it's not done yet. The morning commute is a mess, so slow down and give yourself extra time. That snow flips to rain this afternoon as temperatures climb to 39 degrees. The Centennial Mountains and Island Park? They're in for the real show — another 4 to 7 inches before this wraps up. A Winter Weather Advisory runs until 3 P.M. There. In the next 24 hours. And the wind. The Magic Valley and South Hills are getting absolutely blasted with gusts to 55 miles an hour through this evening. That's the kind of wind that'll toss your trash cans into next week. Treasure Valley catches a break today. A slight chance of mixed precipitation this morning, then partly sunny with a high near 49 degrees. Winds gust to 26 miles an hour this afternoon. Tonight, skies clear and temperatures drop to 30 degrees. Northern Idaho sees patchy fog this morning with a chance of rain. Highs reach 48 degrees. Rain and snow chances linger tonight with a low of 33 degrees. Friday brings calmer conditions statewide. Treasure Valley hits 50 degrees under partly sunny skies. Eastern Idaho clears out with a high of 42. Northern Idaho stays unsettled with rain chances hanging around. The weekend looks fantastic. Temperatures climb into the mid-50s Saturday and could hit 64 degrees in the Treasure Valley by Sunday. That's about 25 degrees above normal for early March.
