On today’s Good Day Health Show - ON DEMAND…

Host Doug Stephan and Dr. Ken Kronhaus of Lake Cardiology (352-735-1400) cover a number of topics affecting our health. First up, Doug and Dr. Ken begin with a medical success story with a new cancer vaccine, the importance of a strong immune system, and how we are inadvertently aging ourselves faster.

Next, Doug and Dr. Ken address an increase in life expectancy, a study showing night owls have a higher risk of heart disease than early birds, and the state of public health (specifically where we’re at with measles outbreaks.

  • The Thing About Cholesterol
    Feb 6 2026
On today’s Good Day Health Show - ON DEMAND…

Dr. Jack Stockwell, a NUCCA Chiropractor and GAPS Practitioner in SLC, UT (866.867.5070 | ForbiddenDoctor.com | JackStockwell.com), covers the the biggest news in the health and wellness space from a holistic, naturopath perspective. In this episode, Dr. Jack begins with an explanation of who, or rather what, the Forbidden Doctor is and why it matters.

Then, Dr. Jack shifts into addressing topics about which his patients have asked him, starting with cholesterol. There seems to be a push for lower and lower cholesterol, which Dr. Jack calls a fraud.

Cholesterol is a waxy-type of product our bodies make because every cell in our body requires cholesterol. Liver makes cholesterol, so if there is not enough in our diet, the liver will make more. If there is enough cholesterol in our diet, the liver will make less. Dr. Jack shares a study that looks into low cholesterol, and longterm lower cholesterol in elderly patients leads to a higher rate of death.
As a NUCCA Chiropractor and GAPS Practitioner, hold of Dr. Jack’s focus of practice is helping his patients change the road their body is on, and that has to do with changing lifestyle choices with diet being the primary focus.

Now, if your cholesterol is critically low and always has been (without the use of drugs to make it low), then that’s a different issue. For some people, it may just be genetic, but it’s important to have your liver checked to make sure it’s not something to do with liver disease.

Rounding out the conversation, Doug joins Dr. Jack to answer listener questions, including how to protect your body from cold, wet weather. The discussion continues how the body reacts wherever you live and various types of climate, and the important controls of the nervous system for the body.

  • Remote Monitoring for Health
    Feb 3 2026
On today’s Good Day Health Show - ON DEMAND…

Host Doug Stephan and Dr. Ken Kronhaus of Lake Cardiology (352-735-1400) cover a number of topics affecting our health. First up, Doug and Dr. Ken begin with a story about a stem cell that’s been derived from helper T-cells, diving into how this therapy will help those with cancer. This is a development that aims to lead to more people beating cancer.

Continuing on with good news in health news, there is a breakthrough for Sjogrens Syndrome patients, a debilitating autoimmune disease that lacks specific therapies.

Then, Doug and Dr. Ken shift focus to the health watch Doug wears with Ken monitoring Doug’s health. While Doug feels fine, his watch is telling Dr. Ken otherwise. This goes beyond the fitness tracker devices people wear, this is a medical grade device where doctors can monitor their patients health, including their stress level and heart-related health issues. The device is a helpful tool because it not only lets doctors know what is going on in their patients’ bodies without them being in the office, but it also helps people keep alert to things about their body they may otherwise miss. Many doctors out there are beginning to be more focused on preventative measures, and preventative-cardiology is gaining more notice.

  • Why LDL Cholesterol Isn't the Focus
    Jan 27 2026
On today’s Good Day Health Show - ON DEMAND…

Host Doug Stephan and Dr. Ken Kronhaus of Lake Cardiology (352-735-1400) cover a number of topics affecting our health. First up, Doug and Dr. Ken begin with an oncology report on cancer survival rates with a rise in success in treating, including a 5-year survival rate for all cancers, and another gain in GLP-1s use as it attributes to cardiovascular health.

Next up, Doug and Dr. Ken address cholesterol levels and why simply looking at the number alone isn’t beneficial because it’s only one part of an overall health assessment, and why cardiologists are no longer focusing on “good cholesterol.” There’s also a protein 20% of people have that causes those who look like they are the most fit and wind up with an early heart attack because of this elevated protein, and how it correlates to LDL cholesterol.

Lastly, Doug and Dr. Ken answer listener questions, including one about exercise and depression. A new report aggregated from numerous studies suggests exercise is just as effective as psychological therapy or antidepressants for alleviating symptoms of depression. This further’s the “exercise is medicine” movement as it relates to mild to moderate depression.

Additionally, the new food pyramid stresses protein, it stresses getting rid of processed food, it stresses getting rid of added sugar (natural sugars are OK), and minimization of saturated fat in patients moderate to high risk patients with circulation issues.

  • Are You Vitamin D Deficient?
    Jan 22 2026
On today’s Good Day Health Show - ON DEMAND…

Dr. Jack Stockwell, a NUCCA Chiropractor and GAPS Practitioner in SLC, UT (866.867.5070 | ForbiddenDoctor.com | JackStockwell.com), covers the the biggest news in the health and wellness space from a holistic, naturopath perspective. In this episode, Dr. Jack dives into the cold and flu season, which also coincide with when most of us are at the height of being Vitamin D deficient. This begins a conversation on the benefits of Vitamin D, as well the symptoms of being deficient, and the differences of synthetic Vitamin D supplements over whole food Vitamin D supplements.

Then, Dr. Jack dives into the debate between raw milk and pasteurized milk, the benefits of raw milk, and why it’s far more difficult to get. Vitamin D naturally occurs in raw milk, but pasteurized milk has the option to purchase with Vitamin D added, and it’s always the synthetic version.

Continuing with the conversation on Vitamin D, Dr. Jack shares the importance of getting direct sunshine for 30 minutes a day can give you enough Vitamin D to show benefits. When taken in supplemental form, the best form of whole food Vitamin D is real, pure cod liver oil. Unfortunately, most cod liver oils are now industrially produced from the livers of inferior fish. The oil is heavily treated with most brands removing the Vitamins A & D for synthetic replacements. This is because the natural Vitamins A & D is that they will break down, when it’s exposed to air it will oxidize.

Doug joins the conversation where he and Dr. Jack address listener questions, including the new upside-down food pyramid, the importance of healthy proteins and healthy fats.

    Jan 20 2026
On today’s Good Day Health Show - ON DEMAND…

Host Doug Stephan and Dr. Ken Kronhaus of Lake Cardiology (352-735-1400) cover a number of topics affecting our health. First up, Doug and Dr. Ken begin with good news thanks to a report in oncology and cancer survival showing a 70% 5-year survival rate as mortality rates have declined. Continuing with good news, a new study shows breastfeeding can diminish risks of depression for mothers, not just post party but up to 10 years after giving birth and breast feeding their baby.

Next, there is a controversy over the new CDC vaccine schedule, questioning cloudiness over any childhood vaccines leading to other illnesses or lifelong diseases, and the need to always follow up with your doctor and to always pay attention to your body.

Instead, push yourself to the point before you feel symptomatic while training. Dr. Ken encourages ditching the motto, “no pain, no gain,” especially the older you get.
