  • Becoming: The Close of Season 1 and the Start of Everything New
    Apr 7 2026

As I discuss closing out this season, I express gratitude to those who have been with me since the beginning. This episode is not just a recap; it's a candid conversation about the struggles and growth I've faced, shedding light on the obstacles that have shaped my current understanding of health, wellness, and personal growth. I delve into the emotional upheaval following the loss of my father, an event that redefined my perspective on life, relationships, and my purpose in this world. The journey of grief has made me acutely aware of what matters and has catalyzed a shift within myself and my approach to coaching.

Throughout Season One, we tackled various topics, from fitness and nutrition to mental resilience and emotional well-being. I shared insights drawn from my own experiences, recognizing that many in our community have battled similar thoughts and uncertainties. The podcast has served as a platform not just for sharing information but as a reflective space for me, inadvertently helping me in my own healing journey. I emphasized the importance of showing up, especially during tough times, as I've learned that true growth often arises from adversity.

In exploring the concepts of "rebuild," "restart," and "perform," I introduced my new coaching framework, intending to support individuals at different stages of their health journeys. "Rebuild" focuses on those recovering from injuries or surgeries, while "restart" targets individuals looking for a system to regain their fitness after being sidelined. Finally, "perform" is about optimizing one's health and performance for those ready to take their journey to the next level. I have a vision for next season that revolves around these paths, allowing listeners to identify where they fit in their health journeys.

As I prepare for an exciting next chapter—including a speaking engagement at the Sedona Yoga Festival—I recognize the importance of the work I’m doing and want to inspire others to embrace their own transformations. The culmination of this season has propelled me to become clearer on my brand’s mission and what I want to share moving forward. I urge my listeners to reflect on their journeys and the growth they can achieve through consistent action and resilience during hard times.

This episode serves not only as a conclusion of Season One but as a heartfelt invitation for you to join me in the next phase ahead. To everyone who's been a part of this journey, I challenge you to draw your own line in the sand and engage actively in your personal evolution. Together, we will continue to explore, grow, and tackle the challenges that life throws our way, one episode at a time. The next season promises to be filled with focused discussions on rebuilding, restarting, and performing, and I'm thrilled to embark on this new journey with you. Let’s get ready for what’s to come!

  • Stop Trying to Resurrect Your Old Self (ep.29)
    Mar 17 2026

In this episode of "Fit for a Comeback," I dive deep into something I've been wrestling with since my father passed away in September: the realization that the old version of me is gone, and trying to get it back was destroying my progress.

I share my raw journey through losing my dad, watching my business collapse, and catching myself trying to perform as someone I'm not anymore. If you've ever felt stuck trying to get "back" to who you were 10-15 years ago—before the injury, before the weight gain, before life happened—this one's for you. I'm breaking down why we can't resurrect a dead identity and what to do instead.

I walk you through the 3-question rebuild framework I used to draw a line in the sand: What do you value RIGHT NOW? What is your body actually capable of today? And who do you need to become to handle the life you want? This isn't about motivation—it's about building a new identity that fits who you are now, not who you were before.

  • The Hard Truth About Heart Disease in 2026… and How To Protect Yourself
    Feb 9 2026

In this episode, I break down why heart health in 2026 isn’t just a medical issue… it’s a lifestyle reality check. I talk about losing my father to an aortic dissection, the way stress tanked my own HRV, and why so many people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s are already quietly walking around with risk factors they don’t even know about.

But this isn’t fear porn. It’s awareness layered with action.

You’ll learn how blood pressure actually works, why strength training matters more than people think, how muscle loss becomes a cardiovascular risk, how HRV reflects your stress load, and why you must get into the driver’s seat of your health instead of waiting for a crisis to force the issue.

If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll start “eventually”… if you’ve been avoiding the numbers… if you keep restarting but never following through… this episode is going to hit you where you need to hear it.

Because heart health isn’t about perfection.

It’s about owning your inputs, reducing your risks, and choosing the hard now… instead of the hard later.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE GET INTO:

    • Why heart disease continues to rise despite better information

    • What hypertension actually does inside your arteries

    • How stress, poor sleep, and working from home are silently wrecking your heart

    • The physiology of aortic dissection and what happened with my dad

    • Why muscle loss is a cardiovascular problem, not just a strength problem

    • How strength training improves insulin sensitivity and protects your heart

    • Why so many people in their 30s–50s already show early risk markers

  • Why Your Plan Keeps Collapsing… And How to Build One That Doesn’t.(EP25)
    Jan 20 2026

Most people don’t fail because they’re unmotivated.

Most people fail because they never move out of contemplation.

In this episode of Fit for a Comeback, we dig deep into the psychology of behavior change — pre-contemplation, contemplation, action, and maintenance — and what actually keeps you stuck in the thinking/saving phase instead of taking the first messy step. Nick breaks down how saving workouts, binge-watching fitness videos, or researching “the perfect plan” can trick your brain into feeling productive… even though nothing is actually changing.

You’ll also hear how behavior change theory applies directly to your fitness journey, why habit stacking beats chasing motivation, and why choosing ONE lane for a defined period of time can be the difference between staying stuck and finally getting real results.

This is the episode to listen to if you know exactly what to do… but you still haven’t done it.

    In this episode you’ll hear:

    • Why saving workouts and collecting information keeps you stuck

    • The 4 stages of behavior change (and how to know which one you’re in)

    • Why contemplation feels productive but creates zero results

    • How to break out of procrastination loops

    • Why messy action beats perfect planning every time

    • How to choose ONE lane and build real momentum

    • Why most people quit before they ever even start
