Enloe Health Chief Medical Officer Sean Maiorano, D.O., talks to Jolene Francis, Vice President and Chief Development Officer. They discuss how physicians at the Family Medicine Residency Program are settling in since starting in July and 2026 Match Day, giving a sneak peek into the next group of residents who will join the program.

Hear what was discussed, including an update on the Gonzales Comprehensive Cancer Center and the cardiac and imaging center that will be built on West East Avenue. The team also went over the closure of Glenn Medical Center, the possible effects on Enloe and more.

After careful consideration, Enloe Health Home Health and Enloe Health Hospice will close on Oct. 31.

Mike Wiltermood, Enloe’s President and CEO, joins Jolene Francis, Enloe’s Vice President and Chief Development Officer, to discuss this change in the August episode of Enloe’s Message.

“This was a difficult decision for us because of the disruption it could bring for our employees,” Mike shared.

The two shed light on what led to the decision how it will help the organization’s future. They also announce a new partnership with Butte Home Health and Hospice to give Enloe patients continued timely access to high-quality care following a stay in the hospital. Plus, they go over Butte Home Health’s reputation as a trusted, highly rated organization.

“This is the best thing for the organization and our community for us to be sustainable going forward,” Mike said, adding that changes will be implemented in a respectful and caring manner.

“For us to take a step back, and reflect and give a (community) partner an opportunity to grow their business and for us to collaborate (with that organization) is really what our community deserves,” he said.

Jolene Francis, Enloe Health’s Vice President and Chief Development Officer, visits with Kevin Woodward, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, about the outlook for Fiscal Year 2026, which just got underway. They give an overview of Enloe’s finances and discuss some of the accomplishments and challenges from the fiscal year just ended and those in the year ahead.

Kevin briefly discusses what could happen if congressional changes to Medicaid occur.

Jolene and Kevin also wish everyone a happy Fourth of July.

Mike Wiltermood, Enloe’s President & CEO, joins Jolene Francis, Enloe’s Chief Development Officer, to discuss the monthly poll and encourage caregivers to take it to share what matters to them.

The duo reminds caregivers that all comments in the survey — even those that generate a reply from a member of the Senior Team — are anonymous. They also encourage departments to talk about the results to make needed changes.

Plus, Mike and Jolene go over the fun that awaits as Caregivers Week draws near. Kicking off on June 9, the week will feature special activities, including the Spirit of Planetree Awards, gifts for all Enloe caregivers, breakfasts served by the Senior Team, the Family Picnic and more.
