  • Running Through Life
    Feb 22 2026

In this episode of Chats from the Country Lane, I reflect on movement — and how running has quietly become a space to think, process, and reset.

This isn’t about speed or performance. It’s about pace.

Sometimes, movement helps us make sense of things we don’t have the words for. And sometimes, slowing down is part of staying connected — not just physically, but mentally.

In this episode, I talk about:

    • how movement supports mental health

    • the difference between running to escape and running to process

    • listening to your body

    • finding your own pace in life

You don’t have to run to benefit. Walking counts too.

Walk with me on the lane.

  • Rest Is Not Failure
    Feb 1 2026

In this episode of Chats from the Country Lane, I talk about rest — and why so many men struggle to take it without guilt.

For a lot of us, rest feels like something we have to earn. We’re taught to keep going, stay productive, and push through tiredness. Especially as Black men and immigrant men, slowing down can feel uncomfortable — even wrong.

In this episode, I reflect on:

    • why rest often feels like failure

    • the pressure to always be “on”

    • rest as maintenance, not weakness

    • learning to pause before burnout

If you’ve been feeling tired — physically or mentally — this episode is a reminder that rest is allowed.

Take a moment. Walk with me on the lane.

  • Who Do You Lean On?
    Jan 4 2026

In this episode of Chats from the Country Lane, I reflect on something many men struggle with quietly — learning who to lean on.

As men, especially Black and immigrant men living in the UK, we’re often taught to handle things alone. To stay strong. To cope quietly. But no one is meant to do life without support.

In this conversation, I talk about:

    • why men find it hard to ask for help

    • the pressure to always appear strong

    • what real support actually looks like

    • learning to lean on others without guilt

    • why strength doesn’t mean carrying everything alone

If you’ve ever felt like you had to hold things together by yourself, this episode is for you.

Take a quiet moment. Walk with me on the lane.

  • Finding Your Place
    Dec 22 2025

This Christmas week on Chats from the Country Lane, I reflect on what it really means to find your place.

Not just where you live — but where you feel safe, grounded, and able to be yourself.

In this episode, I talk about belonging, identity, and the quiet in-between space many immigrant men experience — feeling settled on the outside while still figuring things out internally.

    We explore

    • what belonging really means
    • living between cultures and expectations
    • the patience it takes to grow into yourself
    • how slowing down can help you feel grounded
    • building a sense of place gently, without rushing

If this season feels reflective, complicated, or a little quiet for you, this episode is for you.

Take a slow moment. Walk with me on the lane.

  • The Weight You Can’t See
    Dec 7 2025

This week on Chats from the Country Lane, I open up about the invisible mental load many men carry — the quiet pressure that doesn’t always show on the outside.

From a friend’s emotional post, to my first Man Down meetings, to worrying about my dad’s health, to travelling, falling ill, and ending up in A&E… this episode reflects what it really means to carry weight quietly as a man.

    I talk about:

    • the silent responsibilities men hold
    • emotional pressure and vulnerability
    • being an immigrant and carrying family worries from afar
    • illness, burnout, and learning to pause
    • small ways I gently lighten the load

If you’ve ever felt tired without knowing why, this episode is for you.

  • Learning to Slow Down
    Nov 16 2025

In this episode, I talk about something I’m still learning myself — how to slow down.
This week reminded me that even in the calm of the Devon countryside, life can speed up quickly.
Deadlines, family back home, running injuries, and trying to be present… it all adds up.

I share the moment my physio said, “You have the time. You just don’t have the patience,”
and how that stayed with me.

We also explore the quiet signs our bodies give us, the myth that being busy equals progress,
and the small habits that help us move through life more gently — from a slow walk with a podcast,
to cooking peacefully, to taking it easy at the gym instead of going overboard.

If you’ve been feeling rushed lately, I hope this episode gives you a reason to pause, breathe,
and remember that sometimes slowing down isn’t about changing your life —
it’s about noticing you’re living it.

  • Why Men Don’t Talk (and Why I Finally Did)
    Nov 9 2025

On a quiet walk through the Devon countryside, I reflect on something many men struggle with — talking.

As a Nigerian man now living in rural England, I’ve learned that silence can carry more weight than we realise. In this first episode, I open up about why men often stay quiet, what finally made me speak, and how small moments of honesty can lead to peace and connection.

🎧 Chats from the Country Lane is a calm space for honest conversations about men’s mental health, identity, and life in the countryside — sometimes reflective, sometimes funny, always real.
