  • Narcissists Hate This One Thing!
    Mar 7 2025

Boundaries are your biggest weapon when it comes to narcissists. When you start setting firm boundaries, you take back your control, and the narcissist does not like that at all.Below are some scripts from the video that you can copy and use, if you need somewhere to start.1. Physical Boundaries:Examples: personal space, physical touch, or privacy.“I’m not comfortable with hugs right now” or “Please knock before entering my room.”2. Emotional Boundaries:Examples: protecting your feelings, deciding what emotions you’re willing to share, or refusing to take on someone else’s emotional burden.“I understand you’re upset, but I can’t help you right now” or “I’m not comfortable discussing that topic.”3. Conversational Boundaries:Examples: limiting discussions about triggering topics or declining to engage in gossip.“I’d prefer not to talk about this” or “Let’s change the subject.”4. Time and Energy Boundaries:Examples: managing your schedule, saying no to overcommitment, or carving out time for self-care.“I can’t help this weekend, but I hope you find someone who can” or “I need some alone time to recharge.”How to Execute:1. Clear Communication:Use simple, direct language when expressing boundaries. Example: “When you do [specific behavior], I feel [specific emotion]. Please stop.”2. Consistency is Key:Reinforce boundaries every time they’re tested. Example: If you’ve asked someone not to call late at night and they keep doing it, don’t answer the call—it reinforces the boundary.3. Enforce Consequences:Outline what will happen if a boundary is crossed and follow through. Example: “If you continue to yell at me, I will leave the conversation.”4. Start Small:Begin by setting boundaries in low-stakes situations to build confidence. Example: Try saying no to a small favor you don’t want to do, like lending someone an item you’re not comfortable sharing.
