      This is the third episode in my series on falling in love with short form video, and today we're diving into the question everyone's been waiting for: how do I make my videos actually look good?

      I'm breaking down everything from filming locations to finding your signature style. These are the exact questions I've been answering for clients for over a year now, and I'm sharing all the systems we've built at my agency to help you create polished content without overthinking it.

      Content studios work great if video is a primary growth channel and you have a solid batching system. But honestly? Filming at home is totally viable and way more flexible. I share my exact setup with tips to create an elevated filming corner or two in your space. Because the truth is, you don't need a $20,000 setup. You just need a natural window light and your phone! The secret is layering.

      Next, we'll talk about the art of b-roll. You don't need to be filming constantly in order to keep up with content. I'll share the strategy I've used as a homebody who doesn't like to spend all of her time filming while she's out with friends!

      The Elevation Rule This is huge. Your videos need to be elevated in at least 1 of these 3 ways:

      1. Place
        • intentional background, visual interest
      2. Personal Presentation
        • outfit, hair, makeup, accessories
      3. Production
        • lighting, camera quality, editing

      You don't need all three! Pick 1-2 that feel sustainable for you. And finally, we'll chat a bit about finding your signature style so people cn't help but keep coming back for me.

      Video feels harder than it needs to be because we're overthinking the setup, the aesthetics, the editing. Make decisions ahead of time, keep it simple, and remember: the message matters more than having a perfect setup.

      This week, I'm continuing our "Fall in Love with Short-Form Video" series, and I'm diving deep into something I know so many of you struggle with: how to create short-form video content when you're an expert who talks too much.

      If you're used to podcasting, long-form content, or just explaining things in detail, condensing everything into 60-90 seconds can feel impossible. Trust me, I get it. But in this episode, I'm sharing the exact mindset shifts, frameworks, and strategies that helped me finally crack the code on short-form video.

      What You'll Learn:

      The Mindset Shift You Need

      • Why short-form isn't about teaching everything, it's about creating desire to know more
      • The difference between long-form (building depth) and short-form (being clear and simple)
      • Why repurposing podcast clips usually doesn't work (and what to do instead)

      The Core Rule: Every Video Needs One Clear Goal Every video should deliver one of these three things:

      1. A breakthrough
        • They realize something they've been doing wrong
      2. A belief shift
        • A new perspective that replaces an old one
      3. A quick win
        • Something they can immediately try or feel progress with

      Two Questions to Filter Every Video:

      • What do I want them to think differently after this video?
      • What do I want them to do differently after this video?

      3 High-Performing Video Structures:

      1. The Shift Style
        • Address a common belief → Challenge it → New realization → New belief
      2. The Breakdown Style
        • Problem → Concept → 3 points → Outcome (don't overteach!)
      3. The Results Path
        • Desired result → Common mistake → Better approach → Action to take

      When You Have a Big Framework to Share:

      • Don't try to teach the whole thing in one video
      • Ask: What's the ONE part that changed the game for me or my clients?
      • Sell the value of the framework, don't teach it all upfront
      • Save objections, how-tos, and deeper dives for separate videos

      This is not just another content task, but actual business infrastructure. Discovery is happening on video now, and if you're not showing up, you're intentionally choosing the harder path to growth.

      Let's get real about what video is actually supposed to do for your business. I'm sharing how short form video fits into your overall content strategy from top of funnel lead generation to re-engaging your current audience. Think of it this way: short form is how people meet you, long form is how they get to know you, and offers are how they work with you. Every video you post is literally a lottery ticket for your business, and you can't win if you're not even playing the game.

      Here's where most people mess up: they have secretly unrealistic expectations and no clear goals. I'm teaching you the difference between performance goals (what you want—reach, followers, sales calls) and process goals (what you control—posting consistently, experimenting, reviewing performance). When you anchor your identity in your process, the results become inevitable. Stop expecting every video to go viral and start building a library of visibility opportunities.

      I'm also getting into the mindset shifts that changed everything for me. Every time you negotiate with yourself about video: "I'll start next week," "I need better lighting," "I'm not in the mood," you reinforce the belief that video is optional. I had to look at my daily routine, my calendar, and my habits to make video truly non-negotiable. For me, that meant blocking time for getting ready every morning and scheduling dedicated recording time that nobody can touch.
