This week, the girls rewatch Charmed S5E14: Sand Francisco Dreaming aka Diary of a Break Baby

Episode 14’s cold open made us think we’d rate it a 10, but Phoebe Halliwell constantly blaming the “d"arly” departed Cole Turner for everything going wrong in her life is exhausting. Leo’s Mr. Mom storyline highlights the show's budget constraints. Piper Halliwell keeps pushing the bookie agenda. Thankfully, the plight of the break baby and musical guest Beth Orton save the episode.

The pop culture R.E.P.O.R.T features book recommendations and a WICKER review from Nelle. Rae enjoys Fall TV, includingNBC's political drama “Line of Fire," and is pleasantly surprised by how sexy VisionQuest is.

"Before Nelle & Rae bind this spell (read episode), they get “Messages from The Seer." The Charmed Ones always asked the know-nothing Elders for help with their magical dilemmas. So Nelle does what they should have done and asks the cards how the Charmed Ones should have handled this week's drama.

This week, the girls rewatch Charmed S5E13: House Call AKA Let’s Urban It Up

Episode 101 of Charmed leaves the girls wishing they were still on hiatus. Phoebe Halliwell opens the episode with cultural appropriation, and her sisters aren’t much better. Paige’s storyline feels like an audition for OUAT; meanwhile, pregnant Piper’s nesting is interrupted by “pests,” prompting the Charmed Ones to summon a Scooby-Doo villain for help. Surprisingly, Leo clocks in and is ready to save the day…kinda.

The pop culture R.E.P.O.R.T. is full of book recommendations, as Nelle & Rae spent their time off reading. Rae got lost in the Reacher series and fell deeper in love with Gilmore Girls star Kelly Bishop after reading her autobiography. Nelle’s book club has her painfully reading The Secret World of Maggie Grey series, but she was delighted by Meet Cute Magic. It’s not all book reviews as Rae talks about the A24 Psychological Thriller Primetime, and Nelle finally watches Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Before Nelle & Rae bind this spell (read episode), they get “Messages from The Seer.” The Charmed Ones always asked the know-nothing Elders for help with their magical dilemmas. So Nelle does what they should have done and asks the cards how they should have dealt with the thieving Witch Doctor.

TW: Talks of DV and Rape

This week, the girls rewatch Charmed S5E12: Centennial Charmed AKA Centennial Cuck

The girls’ interpretation of Cole’s alternative timeline leads to dark revelations about Phoebe Halliwell, clarifying the episode’s bleak takeaway. Nelle’s fury with the timeline manipulation rivals the Speed Force, while Piper’s speedy pregnancy has Rae questioning the show’s pacing.

The pop culture R.E.P.O.R.T. includes book recommendations and movie reviews. Nelle starts a Harley Laroux duology and tries to finish Tiny Bookshop before Grave Seasons. She also lets us know how Faster Purple Worm Kill Kill will influence her next session of Dungeons and Dragons.

During her R.E.P.O.R.T, Rae shows off the power of a library card and casts Indiana Fever guard Syd Colson as Russ in her Plus Size Player audiobook review. She doesn't do a good job convincing Nelle to watch Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, but she puts up a good fight for Jason Bateman’s Lead Actor EMMY.

Before Nelle & Rae bind this spell (read episode), they get “Messages from The Seer.” Nelle asks the cards why Paige couldn’t leave Cole alone.

This week, the girls rewatch Charmed S5E11: The Importance of Being Phoebe AKA A Young Ho Cautionary Tale.

The season five episode feels like a Shondaland prequel, which is probably why the girls love it. Cole puts his law degree to work, using the law to defeat his former sisters-in-law; P3 can’t pass a health inspection, and Paige is jailed for vehicular murder. Cole’s perversion of the law and the health risk are another attempt to reunite with his obsession, Phoebe Halliwell. Sadly, misogyny and true crime PTSD are not enough to get the girls to give the episode a bad rating.

The girls tackle the literacy crisis during the pop culture R.E.P.O.R.T From murder mysteries to Norse mythology, the girls have you covered with Tom Mead’s The Murder Wheel and Danielle L Jensen’s A Fate Inked in Blood. They also continue their Matthew Rhys obsession as Nelle finally finishes Widow’s Bay and Rae finishes The Beast in Me on Netflix. Rae gets into NBA rivalries with Untold: Shooting Guards.

Before Nelle & Rae bind this spell (read episode), they get “Messages from The Seer” in a new segment. The Charmed Ones always asked the know-nothing Elders for help solving their magical dilemmas. So Nelle does what they should have done and asks the cards how Phoebe should have handled Cole and how Piper should have dealt with the health inspector.
