This week, the girls rewatch Charmed S5E14: Sand Francisco Dreamin' aka Diary of a Break Baby

Episode 14’s cold open makes us think we’d rate it a 10, but Phoebe Halliwell constantly blaming the “dearly” departed Cole Turner for everything going wrong in her life is exhausting. Leo’s Mr. Mom storyline highlights the show’s budget constraints. Piper Halliwell keeps pushing the bookie agenda. Thankfully, the plight of the break baby and musical guest Beth Orton save the episode.

The pop culture R.E.P.O.R.T features book recommendations and a WICKER review from Nelle. Rae enjoys Fall TV, including NBC’s political drama “Line of Fire,” and is pleasantly surprised by how sexy VisionQuest is.

Before Nelle & Rae bind this spell (read episode), they get “Messages from The Seer.” The Charmed Ones always asked the know-nothing Elders for help with their magical dilemmas. So Nelle does what they should have done and asks the cards how the Charmed Ones should have handled this week's drama.

This week, the girls rewatch Charmed S5E13: House Call AKA Let’s Urban It Up

Episode 101 of Charmed leaves the girls wishing they were still on hiatus. Phoebe Halliwell opens the episode with cultural appropriation, and her sisters aren’t much better. Paige’s storyline feels like an audition for OUAT; meanwhile, pregnant Piper’s nesting is interrupted by “pests,” prompting the Charmed Ones to summon a Scooby-Doo villain for help. Surprisingly, Leo clocks in and is ready to save the day…kinda.

The pop culture R.E.P.O.R.T. is full of book recommendations, as Nelle & Rae spent their time off reading. Rae got lost in the Reacher series and fell deeper in love with Gilmore Girls star Kelly Bishop after reading her autobiography. Nelle’s book club has her painfully reading The Secret World of Maggie Grey series, but she was delighted by Meet Cute Magic. It’s not all book reviews as Rae talks about the A24 Psychological Thriller Primetime, and Nelle finally watches Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
