Episode 8 – Josh Mackin: From a £2.50 Ticket to a £13,000 Score!

In Episode 8 of the All-In Poker Podcast, I’m joined by Josh Mackin, whose incredible poker story proves that sometimes all it takes is a £2.50 ticket... and then at check-out just an extra one for a total of £5.00 and a little bit of luck to change everything!

Josh spotted an All-In Events Facebook advert for the chance to win a UKPC Masters Package and, with just two hours left before the draw closed, decided to buy a couple of £2.50 tickets.

That one decision turned into a dream weekend.

Josh won the package, which included 2 nights’ hotel accommodation, a £560 tournament buy-in and £150 expenses, giving him the opportunity to take his seat in the UKPC Masters.

But Josh wasn't finished there…

After battling through all three days of the tournament, Josh went on to finish an incredible 5th place, taking home a huge £13,000 prize — as well as a £3,330 tournament ticket for an event at Dusk Till Dawn in January 2027.

In this episode, Josh takes us through the whole experience, from discovering the Facebook advert and winning the package, to his journey through each of the three days at the UKPC Masters.

We also chat about Josh's poker journey so far, how he got into the game, what the result means to him, and what the future could hold as he continues his poker journey.

From £2.50 to £13,000 — this really is a story about turning a small punt into a dream come true. 🏆♠️

Episode 7 – Anish Patel: From the Poker Table to the Comic Book Page

In this episode of the All-In Poker Podcast, I’m joined by Anish Patel, the writer and creator of Final 9 — a poker comic book with a story that has been 20 years in the making.

Anish and I first met across the poker table at the Goliath 2026, where he introduced me to Final 9 and the incredible story behind the project. What started as an idea two decades ago has grown into a unique poker-inspired comic book, combining Anish’s passion for storytelling with his love of the game.

We chat about how Final 9 came to life, the journey Anish has been on over the past 20 years, the challenges of bringing a project like this to reality, and what keeps him pushing forward after so long.

We also talk about Anish’s ambitions for the future — including the dream of seeing Final 9 brought to life as an animated TV series and eventually sitting on the shelves of the new WSOP Store in Las Vegas.

It’s a great conversation about poker, creativity, persistence and what can happen when you refuse to let go of an idea you believe in.

Episode 6 – Martyn Everitt | The Story Behind Royal Sharks Poker 🦈

In Episode 6 of the All-In Poker Podcast, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Martyn Everitt, founder of The Royal Sharks Poker, for a really interesting chat about his journey through poker and how an idea born from playing pub poker has grown into a rapidly expanding poker league.

Martyn takes us back to his early days playing poker at university, before getting involved in running a Pub Poker League himself. It was through that experience that he began to see an opportunity to create something different — a poker league that could offer better benefits for both venues and players.

We talk about how that idea eventually became Royal Sharks Poker, the challenges of building a league from the ground up, and the incredible growth the league has experienced since January 2025.

Martyn also opens up about the next chapter of the journey, as he prepares to leave his full-time job and take Royal Sharks Poker on full-time, with the league continuing to grow at an incredible rate.

A great conversation about poker, business, taking a chance on an idea and turning a passion into a career.

🦈 This is the story behind Royal Sharks Poker.
