How do you advocate when you are likely having the worst day of your life. My question is Why? Why do we have to learn advocacy skills and be prepared to fight? Can we simply be cared for as equal human beings. During an emotional discussion with a pediatrician, he asked “what do you want?” I simply said, “I want you to care”. Because “if you cared about what happens to my son when you leave his hospital room, you will do whatever is necessary”.
