Description

Welcome to the long-awaited seventh novel of the best-selling saga by Aleron Kong.
The longest and best book ever recorded by Nick Podehl!

The Land: Founding, Book 1 of the Chaos Seeds Saga, reached number one in the Audible store in 2017!

A mesmerizing tale reminiscent of the wonder of Ready Player One and the adventure of Game of Thrones

Number one in epic fantasy, cyberpunk, and video game fantasy

In The Land: Predators, the Mist Village has harnessed its power. With core buildings, Professional fighters, and now their own Dungeon, the settlement is primed to grow into a kingdom of true power and magic. The path to power has not been without risk, however. The Mist Village has been noticed.

Evil nobles from the Kingdom of Law, bloodthirsty goblins from the Serrated Mountains, an undead lord with a penchant for human sacrifice, and fanatical kobolds from the Depths all plot the village's destruction. The predators are circling. Richter's people are horribly outnumbered by foes whose own power has been entrenched for thousands of years.

Richter and Sion need to be stronger than ever before. Luckily, they are. New skills have been learned, stronger enchantments have been wrought, and the hundreds of villagers have answered the call to adventure. The Companions do not stand alone. While many eyes have turned toward the mists, wanting to take the treasures within, the Mist Village stares back with a simple message.

Come and get it!

Nick Pohdel

the best thing about this book is the narrator. Kong is a narcissist and his writing is laborious and juvenile

Why so dark?

I struggled to finish this. Honestly, why have so much rape in a world to escape the real world? The last couple books made me sick to my stomach.

Best series I've read all year!

My son introduced me to this book and I picked up the audiobook for a long work commute. The narrator is probably the best I've ever heard. The book itself is a combination of Piers anthony punny humor, world building, and a dude encountering a plethora of "oh crap" situations. I've read the series twice and don't plan on stopping. Well worth the time/cost.

You had me until He-man. It was vulgar and unnecessary

These books were creative until you exposed the worst of your nature. There were so many ways you could have played this. Your imagination is all that. To have used the descriptive degradation of humanity lacks creativity. You got my money for 7 books ..... but not for 8. Your books have slowly gotten more filthy...clean it up.

sooo tedious

better than the last few books in the series, but still irritatingly repetitive. juvenile humor aside, the mechanics of the book are what turns me off most. narrator is a complete superstar, though. very, very good performance.

Never dissatisfied or disappointed. Love it!!!

I love every book in the series, and can't wait until book 8 hits audible. Aleron Kong you are a mastermind!!!! Your books are very inspiring for and motivating to others with creative minds and for others with stories bottled up in their heads. I'm one of those people. Keep this beautiful series going!!!!! Stay blessed!!!

30 hours of wasted time

I'm a fan of the overall story when it's actually being told. Unfortunately this book feels like 30+ hours of math class with a short story at the end.

no ending for this series

disappointing waste of time, if you have any expectations for any of the greater story to come to any satisfying conclusions of any kind.

Enjoyable Series, to some extend

Personally I enjoyed the series, except for the annoying amount of dick jokes.. All the things going on with the author in the background made me realize that I should do some research before commiting to a series, otherwise I will be in the situation I am now. Thinking the author is a dick, but kinda want to continue the series if book 8 ever releases. To give a few examples: Censorship on his fb/subreddit - communicated by other subreddits. Influencing reviews of himself/others by actively asking his fan base to do so. And then there is the whole "father of American litrpg" and patenting the term "litrpg" bs

It's good, but...

It's just too long. I mean the actual story is not really that long but the book is long due to repetition and artificially elongated stat descriptions. I usually really like LitRPG but once you have listened to armor stats for 5mins... Well it's not why I read a book and if it was a game I'd skim that section too... Also, I'd not read the same item description each time I'd look at an item. But you can't do that with an audiobook. Also the author unnecessarily repeats himself over and over. Stuff that just happened is just repeated. The author unnecessarily repeats himself over and over. Annoying, isn't it? I found myself skipping parts of the book later on because of these two issues. The last issue I have is that I often thought to myself that I really would get into a fight with Alma if she was my familiar and treated me like she treats Richter... Or I'd ditch her... She is so often too bitchy for me. All these issues aside, I still liked the book.

Good writing, top storyteller, still lacking depth

Anyone who made it to the seventh book will like how he story continues. It is "more of the same", but in a good way. Nick Podehl is an excellent storyteller - I really love when he voices the dwarfs! Still I got the feeling that the most of the characters lack some depth. As well as the story. Up to now, there were -sadly- no real surprises. In other Books, I sometimes hold my breath when the protagonist is in trouble. Or one of the partymembers. Not in this series up to this book. The Author tries his best to correct this to some point and does a pretty good job. Still the last Chapters of the book felt to be pretty much overloaded. Up to a point where I wasn 't sure if the "Luck" of the character is pushed a bit too much. But thats just my impression - just stating that I wasn't too happy, especially with the last three chapters. Still, I want to know how the story continues. So, I am still hooked. Everyone who enjoyed the first six Books: this is pretty good stuff. And: As much as they say "Gnomes rule"...... no, Krom rules!!!

One of the best LitRPGs I have listened to so far

I've have listened to a lot of LitRPGs recently but The Land is definetly in my top 3 together with Awakened Online and Critical Failures.

Packende Weiterentwicklung

the best so far

the best book of the series so far, together with the outstanding performance of Nick Podehl, the only complaint is that it has an end. I really can't wait for another sequel ...

If you bought the other 6...

Ya know what to expect and you sure as heck know that it's good. With the exception of not hearing a "you shall not pass" and a disappointing amount of deep space nine references, still the best litrpg out there.
