Such a sweet story. Love the different characters, especially the exuberant daughter. She was delightful!

Sweet, heartfelt romance -- must read

This is a romance tale with an adorable eight year old in the mix. London does a great job creating enough tension yet letting the moments flood the feel-good zone. If you are looking for a nice listen that make you smile, this is the one.

I especially liked the narration which matched the story well. The plot was solid although there were some open minor issues left, but all considered. It is very strong.

Cute story of grumpy guy falling for the single mom

Loved the characters in this story. The title is a but misleading because the ‘sudden engagement’ doesn’t occur until far into the story. Still, it’s a good story with lots of LOL moments, an adorable 6yo and temperamental dog....oh, and great HEA.

Wonderful!

A lovely story of falling in love and overcoming difficulties. Kyra is struggling to make ends meet as a single mom. Dax steps in and steps up to help her with her car, her daughter and ultimately wins her heart. They create a family together and the story ends with a satisfying HEA. I enjoyed the details of his custom furniture making business and imagining all of the beautiful pieces he builds for his wealthy clientele in East Beach. Excellent narration.

What a fun book to keep you entertained!

I really enjoyed this book. The story line was good, keeping me ready for the next chapter. The narrator did an excellent job. I laughed out loud many times! More please!!!

it tugs in the heartstrings a little

Dax & Kira: a sweet story about love and heartbreak. Kira finds herself pregnant after a hot weekend at a destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta. When she contacts her baby daddy, she finds out he's not actually single, he was just out for his last hurrah. S.O.B. 😠😝. he doesn't want the baby and tells her to abort. Kira struggles with her decision realizing she will have to quit her dream job in order to care for her baby. That didn't really make sense to me because a lot of companies will work with you and offer child care so it seemed like she makes it harder on herself then taking a bunch of lousy, low paying part time jobs. But whatever. There's a six year time jump and Kira is now living in a small town with her daughter Ruby, who gets into EVERYTHING. She's very rambunctious and tends to annoy the grumpy neighbor, Dax. Dax is a furniture maker and divorcee. He's tending to a broken heart after his wife left him. He's annoyed by the family next door until he sees and understands the strain Kira is under, then begins to help. They become friends and it turns into more. When Ruby needs medical attention he offers to meet Kira for the insurance. But he's hoping for a lot more. This was a good book. I was concerned at first that it would be too PG but it had the perfect about if romance and an amazing plot. I was even able to learn about an illness I'd only heard of but never paid attention to. Really enjoyed.

Great love stories!

I enjoyed this story. it was funny and heartwarming. The narrator did a great job with the multiple characters and they kept me laughing. 🤣

ALL THE FEELS!

Dax, Keira and Ruby the coconut. I loved them all. A grumpy guy, a sweet single mother and an adorable, precious 6 year old who actually acted like a six year old. Oh and a dog I wanted to pet named Auto. I loved this book from the first sentence to the last word. I loved getting to know and falling in love with every character. From the guy in the cottage next door who had been burned by love, to the woman who had nothing, but managed to raise her daughter all by herself, to the six year old with a medical issue no one saw coming. And, Cristina Panfilio’s performance was so spot on it was fabulous. For me, very, VERY, few female narrators can properly do a male voice. But Panfilio understood the assignment and never made me doubt that there was a guy in the room. This book has landed up in my top 10 favorites and giving it 10 ⭐️’s is more like it!

Poor Parenting, Poor Decisions

I was really disappointed with both "parents" in this book. I would have called Child and Youth Services for the poor parenting exhibited in this book. I was also surprised that someone who was a paramedic would repeatedly not say anything to the parent about her child having seizures. Come on, author! We're not that stupid and neither are your characters. This was simply poor writing. There were much more effective ways to tell this story without making the characters stupid. Nothing like watching someone bleed to death and then when they're on the brink of death say, "Oh, did you know you're bleeding to death?" Good lord! This could have been a winner of a book.

I also didn't like how dax was a wimp when it came to not using his voice...

Welcome to East Beach!

Dax is a bitter man hiding from the world and making beautiful furniture while he does. Then Kyra Kokinos and her vibrant daughter, Ruby, move in next door and shake up he's world, in a good way! He just doesn't see it that way at first. I'm smitten with little Ruby and her relationship with Dax is just precious! I laughed every time he called her Coconut! I also enjoyed Cristina Panfilio's narration.
