Description
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • You are cordially invited to the wedding of Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo.
The Death Star is destroyed. Darth Vader is dead. The Empire is desolate. But on the forest moon of Endor, among the chaos of a changing galaxy, time stands still for a princess and her scoundrel.
After being frozen in carbonite, then risking everything for the Rebellion, Han is eager to stop living his life for other people. He and Leia have earned their future together, a thousand times over. And when he proposes to Leia, it’s the first time in a long time he’s had a good feeling about this. For Leia, a lifetime of fighting doesn’t seem truly over. There is work still to do, penance to pay for the dark secret that she now knows runs through her veins. Her brother, Luke, is offering her that chance—one that comes with family and the promise of the Force. But when Han asks her to marry him, Leia finds her answer immediately on her lips . . . Yes.
Yet happily ever after doesn’t come easily. As soon as Han and Leia depart their idyllic ceremony for their honeymoon, they find themselves on the grandest and most glamorous stage of all: the Halcyon, a luxury vessel on a very public journey to the most wondrous worlds in the galaxy. Their marriage, and the peace and prosperity it represents, are a lightning rod for all—including Imperial remnants still clinging to power.
Facing their most desperate hour, the soldiers of the Empire have dispersed across the galaxy, retrenching on isolated planets vulnerable to their influence. As the Halcyon travels from world to world, one thing becomes abundantly clear: The war is not over. But as danger draws closer, Han and Leia find that they fight their best battles not alone, but as husband and wife.

The back and forth between the two narrators was a great touch. and we finally get their wedding!
Marc thompson is perfect at Han. I thoroughly enjoy all his StarWars work.

meh it's ok
Well it ain't The Courtship of Princess Leia. I was hoping Han would send that would be kidnapper out the escape pod but we all know the house of mouse won't allow that. I preferred Han's scoundrel behavior of Kidnapping Leia and having Prince Islolder come to the rescue with Luke in tow. but I have to keep reminding myself this a new Star Wars or alternate reality but as always I enjoyed the Marc Thompson reading it but it was an OK story overall

Entertaining but sad no character progression
i found the story very one dimensional. it lacked the interplay from any other storylines. the depth of the characters never really progressed.

Slow paced story
I like most of the Star Wars books I've listened to, and I like reading romance, so I figured I'd give this a shot even though Han, Leia, and their bickering are definitely NOT my favorite couple.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of bickering in this story. It also moves really slowly, with many chapters feeling like I paid for an advertisement of Disney's Star Cruiser experience. The main action didn't get going until 2/3 of the way through, and there weren't any plot twists I didn't see coming.
Many of the themes were well-worn territory for Star Wars, and the trouble with well-established characters is that fans know they (and their marriage) survive the story. There aren't any secondary characters in this book that listeners care enough about to generate any real cliff-hanger moments. The performance was fine, but the story itself isn't worth the listen unless you absolutely love Han & Leia's dynamic. Download Alphabet Squadron or Thrawn instead.

Boring
The wedding is fun and there is some action at the end, but this was one of the most boring SW books I’ve read. If you want a good Leia story; read, “Bloodline” by Claudia Grey or “Razor’s Edge” by Martha Wells. The first hour of this book and the last 2 hours are the only interesting parts. Skip this one. Plus, very little new canon is established

If you're thinking this is a romance novel...
YOU'RE WRONG!
This book is as fantastic as the movies, the details fantastic, and the characters exactly what you'd expect from both the Star Wars Universe AND Beth Revis! The characters we know remained perfectly in their own heads and the new ones were seamless in their integration! BEAUTIFUL WORK! It made it so easy to picture Carrie Fischer and Harrison Ford stepping into this place directly after the battle of Endor. And while their feelings for each other are very much there, it is no different than what was already evident in the movies.
The narrorators were perfect, too! It sounds like Marc Thompson has been doing Harrison Ford impressions his entire life and while Saskia Maarleveld doesn't have the same timber in her voice, she does sound like a slightly more mature Carrie Fischer than the one at the end of Return of the Jedi. In a word, the voice casting was BRILLIANT! Rock on, you two!

who cares
first of all first of all it is stupid that Han and Leia got married on endor. they did not know each other well enough to make that commitment. no wonder it didn't work out. and second I don't care about these stories where they end up on some planet and get involved with their issues. I was zoned out while listening to this because it did not catch my attention because I didn't care about anything that was happening. and Han sounds like a buffoon this whole novel following Leia around and just being a dope.

BEST audiobook!!
I LOVED this audiobook more than any that I’ve listened to before (and that’s a lot)! The narrators PERFECTLY embody both characters, I loved the switch back and forth between Han and Leia, and the accents for all of the characters were so on point. Seriously, I’m listening to this one again for fun!
