When we think back and talk with others about what happened that morning, the familiar question always arises, "Where were you and what did you experience?" Standing Tall details the accounts of people from all over the world as they share their thoughts and experiences on the morning of September 11th, 2001. Standing Tall gives an exceptional response from professional writers, composers, military personnel, and a pacifist struggling to come to terms with what that moment would bring. We hear from a twelve year old girl attempting to make sense of something so inconceivable, we also are given firsthand accounts from people inside the towers, and volunteers who gave up everything to be there.
While compiled shortly after 9/11, Manuell did not want to release the book too soon. Now that this composition has become a part of living history, she has decided to share it with the rest of the world, just as they had shared with her.
