Description
When Lily is freed from alien captivity, she refuses to wait for rescue - or recapture. She'll take her chances in the forest. Navigating the exotic terrain won't be easy, but it beats the alternative. Then, an enormous alien falls into her camp and makes her question everything. He's rude, grumpy, and annoyingly sexy. Trusting him would be a mistake. And yet...the idea of leaving him behind hurts way more than it should.
Verakko was supposed to liberate the kidnapped humans, then return home to fulfill his obligations. Getting dropped into the forest at the feet of the most confounding female he's ever met was not on the agenda. So, he'll help her, then they'll go their separate ways. That's the plan...until he starts to suspect that Lily is his mate.
She doesn't trust easily. He has secrets and responsibilities he can't avoid forever. Only one thing is clear. If Lily and Verakko want their happily ever after, they'll have to fight more than the dangers of the forest to get it.
Contains mature themes.

Unexplainable
I’m not too sure why I enjoyed the series so much. It’s the typical alien society that does not have enough females. But how the Clecanians have dealt with it is interesting. A whole society wrapped around ensuring the continuation of their race without kidnapping females from earth. Then comes along some bad guys that do it anyway. I especially like the fact that the Clecanian society is matriarchal meaning that in regards to procreation the males don’t have a lot of power. The males normally treat the women as treasures which gives this listener a warm fuzzy feeling. Mr. Dexter’s narration gives it a gentle touch which seems to be very apropos for the Clecanian society.

😫 ugh just say she's your mate already!!!!!!!
I enjoyed the first 2 books however I did notice a decline in the female characters each book they become more unbearable and whiney, this is by far the worst. Lily is written as a basic stereotypical "strong independent" woman, arguing all the time and getting mad at dumb sh*t. the male character was no better holding secrets and the repetitive inner duologue drove me crazy. this book is 3 hours too long and the majority of the book is in the dang woods😕

SO! GOOD!
Loved how this one came in from a different perspective and covered more cultural problems that could come about. Ooh Verakoo is a different type of Clecanian from Theo and Luka; as long as they all purr I'm good 🤣
🙏Please make book 4 into an audiobook🙏

Painfully Slow
2 Stars because I’ve heard worse. 7.5 long hours of : H: I want her but can’t have her. h: I fancy him but don’t know him well yet. She’s such a limp tease. Had to finish because couldn’t return. Even at 1.5 speed wanted to shoot myself. It’s a hard no. 🤪

Cute
All the books so far are good, they are not corny or silly/stupid they are cute, Especially this one. She made the aliens and the humans and how we both came about work.

Good, but Nerve-Wracking
It's another excellent alien romance by Victoria Aveline. It was hot, but boy was also nail-biting! The human female, Lily, really had my frustration and anxiety shooting through the roof. Thank goodness she finally made the right decision!

Love this series
This is not the type of book I would normally listen to ... but I'm hooked. It has a great plot, the characters are interesting, the sex isn't too much or too little. Somehow the story doesn't seem ridiculous. I've really enjoyed this series and have coughed up the money for all of them, I usually would lose interest by now but I'm hooked - on to the next one!

It would have been better if....
First and foremost, the leading female was SO DAMN ANNOYING! UGH! Her overall attitude sucked! She was very indecisive, condescending, stupid.. I can go on and on but I won't! and then the story was also predictable. it was a good story, but you knew what was going to happen, you were just waiting for it. I like it much better when I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to find out or guessing. the only thing that saved this really was the fact that the narrator was fantastic! with the voices the, the tones, the connotations it was fantastic! he brought the book to life and she should be thankful otherwise it would definitely be super subpar! I am going to read the last book I hope it's good.
