Description
This one sentence, spoken by a madman in an anonymous phone call, is all it takes to drag Eve Duncan right back to that horrifying day years ago when her only daughter vanished without a trace.
Since that day, her life has become an obsession to find Bonnie's remains and put the pain of her death to rest. However, one man wants nothing more than to prevent that from happening. He is every woman's waking nightmare: a brilliant, ruthless killer whose hunting ground stretches from coast to coast. But taunting Eve Duncan might be his first and last mistake.
For Eve is armed with more than just her talent as a forensic sculptor and her fierce protective nature. She brings with her former Navy SEAL Joe Quinn, an Atlanta detective who will do whatever it takes to bring Eve some kind of peace, even if he has to lie to her to do it.
Eve's only salvation may be through the mysterious skills of another woman whose chilling talent leaves her as tormented as Eve - and as driven to bring this monster to justice.
But when lives are in danger, every step could be a trap, and every inch of solid ground seems to be shifting under their feet. And this killer wants nothing more than to lure Eve further and further into his swamp of madness.

Good Story, but Unsatisfying
I have listened to over two hundred audio books, and I have read every Eve Duncan book by this author. In Quicksand, the author presents an interesting serial killer story with supernatural elements woven into the mix. There is plenty of action in this book. My problems is with the main characters. I have read all of the other books in this series and have come to feel like i "know" the main characters. In this book, virtually all of the dialogue involves angry, snippy, arguments between the main characters. They are angry with each other, yet worry over each other's safety. The dialogue, between any combination of two of the main characers is predictable, and distracts from the story. They weren't likeable at all, in this installment. I found my self drifting off during the dialogue between the "good guys" on several occasions. The ending is fun, but unsatisfying. If you're a fan of this series, you'll forgive the shortcomings of this book. If you haven't listened to this author before, start with one of her excellent earlier novels in the Eve Duncan series.

The New Discovery of Iris Johansen!!!
This was my second audiobook- the first was a mba in a book which I learned some stuff from but was not entertained by.
Iris kept me guessing- the second listen is even better than the first. Nuances I missed the first time around are very entertaining. The characters make more sense and I'm really glad to be able to relisten.

She rock!!!
I love this author! It's an easy read with not too much detail, but just enough to flow with perfection. She's awesome and continues to use people from previous books, which makes it fun to relate and exciting to grab a new book.
