Description
She’s broken free. But danger is in hot pursuit. And rescue is nowhere in sight.... Eve Duncan is on the run. Kidnapped by Jim Doane, a mysterious man who wants her to complete a sinister forensic sculpture, she now has no time to savor the victory of escaping from him. He’s back on her trail and closing in fast. At the mercy of the Colorado wilderness, she struggles to outwit and outrun him, but the odds are stacked high in his favor.
Doane desperately needs Eve’s skill to reconstruct the skull of his son - a sick and twisted killer who still holds Doane in thrall from beyond the grave - and like a man possessed, he refuses to let anything stand in his way. The CIA has its own reasons for tracking Eve’s nemesis. And those closest to Eve - Joe Quinn and Jane MacGuire - are doing everything in their power to rescue her, while a hired gun named Lee Zander is on a personal mission to eliminate Doane.
But does that mean he can be trusted to save Eve? Zander’s checkered history may be tied to Eve’s own past in a shocking way - or he may be nothing more than another assassin with a long-standing grudge and an overactive trigger finger. Using everything from cutting-edge technology to animal whisperers, the hunt for Eve is on. And the hourglass is almost empty.

Excellent Story
Would you consider the audio edition of Hunting Eve to be better than the print version?
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I have listened to all the previous Eve Duncan books and this was right up there. I do agree with the comments about the narrator. I love her voice, but it would have been a much better idea to have a male voice for the male characters.

Very disappointing trilogy
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Perhaps if you have never read any of the Eve Duncan series, it may be enjoyable. But just as the Scarpetta series from Cornwall took a wrong turn, these books have as well in my opinion.
Way too much psychoanalytical mumbo jumbo - got really tired of the characters psychoanalyzing each other! A waste of money too if you have read the other books because the story line spends an inordinate amount of time explaining the previous story lines and characters. I liked the forensic science and true detective work in the previous books. This trilogy is nothing more than a reunion and very little new.
Did Elisabeth Rodgers do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
not really, but there really were TOO many in one book, so perhaps that isn't her fault.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I previously have really enjoyed the Eve Duncan series. I hope future books get back to forensic science and mystery.

Really 3 books...a sales ploy and no more
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
if it were one or two books....3 was way to many
What could Iris Johansen have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
talked less about how the world revolved around eve and how wonderful she was....sickly sweet.....
What aspect of Elisabeth Rodgers’s performance would you have changed?
she doesn't do accents well.......
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I love the main characters in this book and I am a believer in things to do with people having extra skills but come on....that many people in one book and Seth Calebs abilities..little over the top...
Any additional comments?
I felt cheated that I had to read and pay for three books to get this story. I am a creature of habit and when I start something I have to finish it...but I will be on the lookout next time as to not have to listen to so much to get a story....

Continuing the story of Eve Duncan's abduction
I must first comment on Elisabeth Rodgers Performance. Narrators can make or break a book. Elisabeth is an exceptional performer and I will definitely purchase books with Elisabeth as the narrator.
This is book 2 of the story of Eve's Abduction. The books are an easy listen if you are considering an audio book. The 3 books in this set have a lot going on but the Johansens preface each scene change so you don’t get lost when listening to the audio book (which is rare and exceptional writing).
Familiar characters from previous books come together in this set to rescue their beloved Eve from a deranged lunatic. Bonnie interacts with another entity which was a new twist I liked. I found myself thinking occasional interactions between Bonnie and another, more friendly, entity would make for an interesting new dynamic in an Eve reconstruction book.
I have one complaint about this set. There are chapters centered around the Jane McGuire character (not sure I spelled her name correctly) that detracted a lot from the abduction of Eve. The Johansens gave a narcissistic attention to Jane, such that she sucked all the energy away from the main plot. She came off as being self-centered, rude and downright mean. I don’t remember feeling that way about her character before so they’ve changed her character or her behavior was out of balance in these books. In any case, they gave her Caleb triangle way to much play for me. I have finished all 3 books in the set and I don’t want to spoil the last book so bear with Jane if you find yourself feeling the way I did. She is essential to the finale.
Overall this set is a good addition to the Eve Series and I highly recommend all 3 books, “Taking Eve, Hunting Eve and Silencing Eve”. I’m off to Kendra Michaels book #2, “sight unseen”.
Reviewers Note:
The Johansen book series overlap. I suggest reading all the Johansen books by date, not by series. They also, sometimes write in (what I call) sets, where one book leads into another, taking two or more books to reach the conclusion. The sets must be read in order.
When reading this review, please be aware I am 5 years behind on the Johansen books. There are 15 novels between this set and the current release year 2019.
Happy Listening.

Excellent series
Narrator is engaging. Iris Johansen makes it so even though this is a series, the reader isn't lost with the background info or part events. #UnitedStates

don't know what's worse
the shallow characters or the predictable story or the sophomoric writing... audio performance was mildly better than the story which isn't saying much.

Love Eve Duncan series
Love Iris Johansen but this narrator just ruined the voices for me. It's a good story, kept my interest, but she's had better. ☹️
