À propos de ce contenu audio

Stephen King’s #1 New York Times bestseller and “wild, powerful, disturbing” (The Washington Post Book World) classic about evil that exists far beyond the grave—now featuring a stunning vintage cover!

When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Despite Ludlow’s tranquility, an undercurrent of danger exists here. Those trucks on the road outside the Creed’s beautiful old home travel by just a little too quickly, for one thing…as is evidenced by the makeshift graveyard in the nearby woods where generations of children have buried their beloved pets. Then there are the warnings to Louis both real and from the depths of his nightmares that he should not venture beyond the borders of this little graveyard where another burial ground lures with seductive promises and ungodly temptations. A blood-chilling truth is hidden there—one more terrifying than death itself, and hideously more powerful. As Louis is about to discover for himself sometimes, dead is better

A classic from King, some might find it boring, but I really learned how to love it and feel the horror in it with the years and experience.

Wasn't planning on re-reading it, so decided to give it a go with the audio format based solely on the raving reviews on the narrator's performance, and I was absolutely amazed by Michael Hall, he gave life to the story better than I ever could. Perfect !

After listening this story, I now remember how much I'm agreeing with the consensus on the genius of King's writing. Moreover, Michael C Hall being a great actor, he is at least as good reading the story as he is on screen, with accents, rythm and all. Who would have thought that cats, dogs, southern old men and little children could sound like Hall ?

Great classic, brilliant performance
