Description
The highly anticipated sequel to the New York Times best-selling thriller everyone is talking about, One of Us Is Lying! There's a new mystery to solve at Bayview High, and there's a whole new set of rules.
Come on, Bayview, you know you've missed this.
A ton of copycat gossip apps have popped up since Simon died, but in the year since the Bayview four were cleared of his shocking death, no one's been able to fill the gossip void quite like he could. The problem is no one has the facts.
Until now.
This time it's not an app, though - it's a game.
Truth or Dare.
Phoebe's the first target. If you choose not to play, it's a truth. And hers is dark.
Then comes Maeve, and she should know better - always choose the dare.
But by the time Knox is about to be tagged, things have gotten dangerous. The dares have become deadly, and if Maeve learned anything from Bronwyn last year, it's that they can't count on the police for help. Or protection.
Simon's gone, but someone's determined to keep his legacy at Bayview High alive. And this time, there's a whole new set of rules.
And don't miss Two Can Keep a Secret, Karen's third "must-read YA thriller" (Bustle)!
Cast of audiobook narrators:
Holly Linneman as Phoebe
Maria Liatis as Maeve

AMAZING from beginning to end
Loved this book because I listened to One of Us is Lying couples of days before knowing they were coming out with a sequel. Loved the book so much listened to it twice, first time was to know what happened and second time for details I missed and pure enjoyment. Really liked how the author with this book brought a whole new concept and main characters, but also incorporated the main characters from the previous books the"Bayview 4". So if anyone wanted to know what happened with their favorite Bayview 4 this book give us that information. I would definitely recommend people to listen to One of Us is Lying before listening to One of Us is Next, so you can fully understand the books contrast..Like the first book the plot twists don't disappoint...Hopefully if she does another sequel it won't be a 3 years wait.

Read with caution...
To me this was not a good book. It took me a few tries to get into it and I never did. I'm a very clueless person when it comes to mysteries and such. So I can honestly say for the first time ever I was able to predict this book. It was slow and rather boring really. I say be aware that it's nothing like the first book.

Karen McManus Keeps Getting Better
This is the third book I’ve read by Karen McManus, and I’ve enjoyed them all. This is a great sequel—as strong or stronger than the first. The author creates unique and believable high-school aged characters and creates tightly plotted mysteries. The character of Knox may be my favorite, and he is masterfully narrated.

enjoyed it
I really enjoyed the book. It was easily predictable. and I didn't predict one of the small things... and it felt like it was just added on in the end. I just kinda found it not thought out. Maybe because it was added in the last five mins and wasn't fully resolved. I wouldn't mind a third book picking up where this one left off.

A knock out performance!
This story had everything. An amazing mystery with a twist at the end, sympathetic characters who each had problems to work through, and great cast of narrators who brought it all to life. I was afraid at first that the sequel could not live up to the first book, but I loved it!!! Now I'm hoping the author will turn this in to a trilogy.

Another edge of your seat listen!
We are back with book 2! This was a fun, thrilling read and I liked the new characters at Bayview High and their drama and secrets. We got three main characters this time, Maeve, Bronwyn's younger sister; Knox, Maeve's best friend and previous boyfriend; and Phoebe, the popular girl who works with Addy. We knew a bit about Maeve from the first book and I liked that she's a sleuth and puts pieces of the puzzle together. Phoebe has had it rough since her dad died and I felt for her family situation and was glad she had some friends to lean on. Knox was kind of this poor guy caught up in everything and I felt like he could have used more point of view time so we could get to know him a bit better. I liked the truth or dare game and the secrets that came with it. The mystery wasn't as fun to me as the first book, but I still liked getting clues and trying to figure things out for myself. I loved that we still saw Nate and Bronwyn, they have so much chemistry that they push against each other sometimes but I love them as a couple. In general I was really happy we saw the Bayview Four again and they had involvement in the story. The rotating points of view and storylines from reporters made this fun and kept the plot moving. I had a couple scares where I was worried for our characters and couldn't wait to finish so I could see what was going on. I highly recommend the audiobook for this one!

Great book, a little disappointed at the end
I really liked the book! it's a very good sequel to one of us is lying, a great story and very entertaining. I'm just a little disappointed with the ending because it's an open one (I'm not that big of a fan of an open ending). But never the less it's a very good book.

Didn't like it at all. Way too much unnecessairy plotfiller and cliffhangers. A lot of plottwists are stupid, not even going to mention the ending. I really liked the first book from her, but the other two i can't stand.

By far better than the first book
Spoiler-free review: -good mystery -better main characters than in book 1 -unproblematic -characters are actually smart -definitely too long -subplot unconnected to main plot -foreseeable for experienced readers/people who write themselves Spoilers ahead! One of us is lying is easily under the top 5 of the worst books I ever read. Paper cut out cliche characters, way too foreseable and a SUPER problematic suicide plot. I picked up McManus's second book Two Can Keep a Secret a while back and was definitely positively surprised. She really improved her characters and plot and left out mostly everything problematic/harmful/psychologically questionable. After I finished that I decided I should check this sequel out and I am again positively surprised. The older characters work really well as side characters and the new ones have much more dimension. The character constellation is sadly the same as in Two Can Keep a Secret, basically. Knox and Malcolm are the exact same character, just like Maeve and Sadie, Phoebe reminds me a lot of that girl who was murdered. BUT storywise this is definitely good. It's gripping and exiting, fun and mysterious. I liked that the characters decided to stop playing that truth or dare game. They learned from the last time which is nice. Even though we get text conversations from the murderers in between it's not actually obvious who it is and why they are doing it. That is lovely. BUT once Emma's drinking problem is revealed, you know what's up, not all of it, but most. Still this would be a well crafted mystery, if not a little too long. This time, the romances do not add anything to the story, main and subplot are not connected at all which is sad. The book is very long and I feel like it could've been shortened a ton by cutting down the subplot. It was a little boring at times

Even better than the first book
I really loved this book! If you like a good mystery, this is for you! I almost didn't guess who the culprit was, which for me is always a bonus as I usually guess early on. I found it better than one of us is lying and it intrigued me much more. I felt the first book failed to really captivate me but this story certainly did.
