In the midst of their torrid love affair, the coveted invitation of the rare vintage Bugatti opens the saga for an unexpected murder and the theft of a priceless Picasso from a Carmel art gallery owned by Carlota Dominguez. The crime that has taken place stuns the Concours guests as well as the locals. The murder threatens Carlota's plans to sell a black market painting that would have solved her financial problems. But her browbeaten brother Gustavo has other plans.
When the murder investigation leads local police Chief Mike and the local CIA and FBI agents to a dead end, Gustavo makes his bold move to betray the remorseless sister who has belittled him his entire life.
