A mysterious island.

An abandoned orphanage.

A strange collection of very curious photographs.

It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that makes for a thrilling listening experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

A spine-tingling fantasy, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.

I really liked This book, at first, we enter a world , kind of created by Tim Burton like, It is rather disconcerting, then the story unfolds in front of us, but always with the nice touch of weirdness and bizzare (the picture help a lot in This aspect ) and It is really magic !!!
I really advise people to Read It, or to listen to This audio book, since the narrator is really good.

Great book for the weirdness Burtonlike lovers

I don’t know if the renderings of Welsh or of Irish accents are more toe-curling, but the garble produced here makes the very many characters in this story that are not American sound like complete morons. By far the worst audio rendering I have heard. Also, the author seems to be unaware that in 1940s Britain, no one would have “fixed” a cup of tea (and many more jarring inaccuracies of the kind). Very, very painful.

Dreadful accents
