Histoire

Description
The number-one best-selling series returns with a thrilling new story arc set in America!
Vintage photographs reveal the never-before-seen world of peculiar America with a stunning addition - full-color images.
Having defeated the monstrous threat that nearly destroyed the peculiar world, Jacob Portman is back where his story began, in Florida. Except now Miss Peregrine, Emma, and their peculiar friends are with him, and doing their best to blend in. But carefree days of beach visits and normalling lessons are soon interrupted by a discovery - a subterranean bunker that belonged to Jacob’s grandfather, Abe.
Clues to Abe’s double-life as a peculiar operative start to emerge, secrets long hidden in plain sight. And Jacob begins to learn about the dangerous legacy he has inherited - truths that were part of him long before he walked into Miss Peregrine’s time loop.
Now, the stakes are higher than ever as Jacob and his friends are thrust into the untamed landscape of American peculiardom - a world with few ymbrynes, or rules - that none of them understand. New wonders, and dangers, await in this brilliant next chapter for Miss Peregrine’s peculiar children.
Includes a bonus PDF with haunting vintage photographs that reveal the never-before-seen world of peculiar America with a stunning addition - full-color images.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the bonus PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Missing chapters
The majority of the first chapter is missing. There is info required to understand chapter two that is missing. Nothing says whether or not this title is abridged.

Too loud
This yarn is almost as enjoyable as the previous ones, with so many events crammed inside the chapters that it feels a bit like a rollercoaster ride, however one likes those. This one takes place partly in present day US, after Jake Portman returns home, from the Library of Souls, with twists and turns in and out of loops. The narrator is superb, but in this story there is a lot of yelling which when you listen with earphones to an audio book- you have to turn down the volume as not to damage your eardrums. If you just read this, it won't be a problem. This is not the narrator's fault, but the audio techs'. But that was enough to disturb the flow of the story which was disappointing. Otherwise I still find myself falling asleep from the otherwise smooth narration and seamless story line when listening in bed, and ending up in some strange dreams. The author has great imagination and makes it all flow from one peculiar place or person to another but actually makes it all seem completely normal. This story makes it clear you must read the next. I already have the fifth book and will pursue my dreams in peculiar dom. They continue to be greatly entertaining, which we all need at this time.

Can't put this book down
In the start of a new part of the series, Miss Peregrine's children's have not only grown up and learned to live on their own, they are no long loop bound. Free to live in modern time, Jacob finds himself trying to train them in what's new since 1940. Only instead they find a Prophecy and conspiracy. And a lot of danger.
So much fun!

The ending of the novel
It was slow in the beginning and the love story of Emma and Jacob. But at the end kept me on my toes to read the 5th book of Miss Peregrines. If you have the patience of the story, I’d say read it.

A little harder to enjoy
Book 3 feels like a fairytale ending, but book 4 gets a fresh restart. Here, the Nazi stand-ins are replaced by the American South in all its inglorious reputation. Other than Jacob, flat characters everywhere.
For me, the most fantastical element of the story is that our heroes can apparently go for days without food and sleep, have a limitless supply of energy, and are nearly totally unaffected by injuries, explosions and other trauma. And young Jacob can navigate a strange car up the the unfamiliar East coast with the ease of going to the local convenience store. And again his cell phone has a great battery. Once again, I used up my entire supply of disbelief-suspending medication. I am a little nervous about going on to book 5.
One more star removed.

Loved It!
The narrator was unbelievably talented! All of the dialogue was so unique to the characters. If I didn't enjoy the series before, I definitely do now! Which I thoroughly love even reading it on my own!
