The Founding Fathers tried to protect us from the threat they knew, the tyranny that overcame ancient democracy. Today, our political order faces new threats, not unlike the totalitarianism of the 20th century. We are no wiser than the Europeans who saw democracy yield to fascism, Nazism, or communism. Our one advantage is that we might learn from their experience.

Simple tips to prevent cognitive decline
This book is suitable for people that are looking for ways to prevent or slow their cognitive decline that is, sometimes, unavoidable with time and aging. Although some of the ways to do that mentioned in this book are not groundbreaking (or something you never heard before), like 8-hours of sleep or eating better, some are new and thought-provoking, Dr. Gupta backs his claims through recent, well understood, scientifically backed data. He, being the narrator, manages to talk to the listener in a way that is straight forward, clear and concise. He gives out what works for him, he disproves many myths and in general, he shares his experiences as a neurosurgeon and a journalist travelling the world and talking to experts in the frontlines of science.
In general, I am happy I heard this book and would recommend to anyone that wants to treat their brain as they treat the rest of their body.
