Description
The pleasure of your company is requested at the wedding of Miss Eliza Cynster ... but not until she’s rescued from a daring abduction by the mostunexpected of heroes!
Brazenly kidnapped from her sister Heather’s engagement ball, Eliza Cynster is spirited north to Edinburgh. Desperate and determined to escape, she seizes upon the first possible champion who happens along - gentleman scholar Jeremy Carling.
Villains and rescues are a far cry from Jeremy’s expertise, yet he cannot abandon a damsel in distress. But danger lurks and hurdles abound in their race to escape the mysterious laird, until a final confrontation on a windswept cliff reveals what their future life could hold - if both are bold enough to capture and own the unexpected love they now share.

Twists and turns like a rivers flow
very interesting and enjoyable story, clear presentation, draws a picture and entertains - the strong characters, a villan with whom one can empathise, a secondary villan who's vileness is reprehensible... thanks

Congruent caracters, and great adventure
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Use your credit and enjoy, the Jeremy the shcolar and the Eliza the quiet Cynster make a great love story, growing into their own and living the present.
What about Matthew Brenher???s performance did you like?
Matthew Brenher kept the voices and pace perfectly in accordance to the different characters, including Royce, Devil and Tristan. It is the best performance yet.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened to this book in two days; it was a great escape and brought me back to value the present.
Any additional comments?
Can't wait to hear Angelica's adventure!

Good, could've been better!!!
I am a huge fan of Stephanie Laurens and I absolutely love the Cynster family and stories. I certainly was expecting this trilogy to be better especially the second book, I am so disappointed! I honestly hope that the third book is better than this one and they get an idea about the Laird and what he is after. Honestly, I am surprised they have no idea who he is or it is made so easy to kidnap the girls. Overall however, the books were a good listen.

Wish I'd gotten in one of the $4.95 sales
I only paid $14.95 for this, but wish I'd gotten it in one of the $4.99 sales... I didn't read the first book in the series and I'm glad I didn't because the entire story was told in this story. The story felt like a "B" movie romance... not SL's usual style.. And while I usually rate the narrators very well simply because I love listening to them. I think this narrator was not the best choice for this book. He has a wonderful voice, but I found myself wondering how he would pull off the love scene when we FINALLY got to one. He didn't do too bad, but I still felt he was not the narrator for this book.
Will I read the last book in the series? Probably yes if I can get it for a good price. I would like to fully understand WHY the Laird is kidnapping the Cynster sisters. Since the first book was rehashed so much I assume the full story will be revealed in the last book. I will be very disappointed if the lame "Momma's got a goblet and the Laird must humiliate a Cynster to retrieve it" is all we will learn. Also, I admit the main female character in this book was boring to me, she had no depth. Sounds like the next sister has much more spunk!

Dissapointing
The story line was so implausible that for a while I was going to return the audible book. However, i decided to look past that & just lose myself in the romp. Not the best of Stephanie Laurens' books, however, that's why I only gave it 3 stars.

Better than the first in the Series!!!!
Where does In Pursuit of Eliza Cynster rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I guess this book would rank right in the middle of all of the books I've listened too. It's not the best, but it's by far not the worst either.
What other book might you compare In Pursuit of Eliza Cynster to and why?
Most all of the books by Stephanie Laurens. Most of them are incredibly similar. I don't really compare Ms. Laurens with other Historical romance writers because all of her characters are almost identical and although some of her stories are unique she really never strays from her character traits.
Any additional comments?
I liked this second book in the Cynster Sisters Trilogy much better than the first book in the series. There was more action and the characters were able to admit their love without chapter after chapter of seeing who will or won't declare his/her love first.
I really enjoyed this second book in the series and I'm looking forward to the third book. I'm glad I didn't skip this book as I started too based on the other comments here and on other sites. I recommend this book and think that it brings more to the story than the first in the series.

Waste of time and money!
What disappointed you about In Pursuit of Eliza Cynster?
Grave disappointment. Not like any of the other Cynster novels.
What was most disappointing about Stephanie Laurens’s story?
There were so many infinitesimal details about getting away from the kidnappers that I had to keep reminding myself what the story was really about.
What didn’t you like about Matthew Brenher’s performance?
Brenher used a boring monotone the entire time. The only distinction between characters was that he whispered for the female's part.
Any additional comments?
I should have paid more attention to the previous reviews, they were right. The narrator was inexcusably bad, but so was the book.

it is just too long...too long winded...
I like Stephanie Laurens, but this book is way too long. It spends too much time wondering through Scotland and giving the reader detailed routes to the border. I like the character, but get to the point before i die.

Filler for book three
Too much of the same. 2 kidnappings was very redundant with high tailing it to Scotland
The story was a little more action packed than the first which was nice but the bond between the characters was a bit flat. These were both overkill to set up the third book, not sure why we had such similar story lines but u now expect a lot in the next one. The narrator has great male voices but the females r a little baby sounding. It makes the story telling a little annoying when the main characters are interacting Could have been shorter.
Overall a decent listen.
