Writing this book has surely implied a huge research work. On top of this, Stephen Fry is a fantastic story teller. We had the impression to live beside those heroes. I recommend this book without hesitation.

There are few greater joys than hearing an old and beloved story told again in a new and powerful way. Stephen Fry's writing and performance make these anciant and well known myths both fresh and exciting.
Even those I can recite by heart kept me wildly entertained.
A truly wonderful book and audiobook.

A Practically Perfect Book in Every Way

However many liberties Fry takes while retelling these legends they should be all forgiven because he has a GIFT OF STORYTELLING. Fry is an opposite of Holywood: he takes great, old, dust-covered stories and makes them shine. One listens to hundred times retold adventures of Hēraklês or Theseus as if they were just being revealed. Worth every minute spent.

Although sometimes a little confusing because of unknown names etc, the story wins, and Stephen Fry is a renown narrator and brilliant actor, who always makes his characters real. Loved it. Just finished 2nd listening.
