Description

Celebrate the 40th anniversary of the enduring gothic masterpiece Flowers in the Attic - the unforgettable forbidden love story that earned V.C. Andrews a fiercely devoted fan base and became an international cult classic.

At the top of the stairs there are four secrets hidden - blond, innocent, and fighting for their lives....

They were a perfect and beautiful family - until a heartbreaking tragedy shattered their happiness. Now, for the sake of an inheritance that will ensure their future, the children must be hidden away out of sight, as if they never existed. They are kept in the attic of their grandmother’s labyrinthine mansion, isolated and alone. As the visits from their seemingly unconcerned mother slowly dwindle, the four children grow ever closer and depend upon one another to survive both this cramped world and their cruel grandmother. A suspenseful and thrilling tale of family, greed, murder, and forbidden love, Flowers in the Attic is the unputdownable first novel of the epic Dollanganger family saga.

The Dollanganger series includes: Flowers in the Attic, Petals in the Wind, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, Garden of Shadows, Beneath the Attic, and Out of the Attic

Flowers in the Attic.

Very interesting but full of human greed over your own flesh and blood. How a life could be changed from happy family to such conditions. My heart aches for the kids in Attic and cruelty done to these most beautiful lives.Cathy is victim of all atrocities because of her love and devotion towards twins,A must read or listen.

Good read for anyone

I have loved this book and ready it many times since I seen the movie. V.c. Andrews is a great writer and I hope to read more of hers in the future. I just wish they would add the second book petals on the wind to audible!

a rewrite of what was a very good read

this isnt VC Andrews style of writing too many changes and details ommitted. The story is the same but im not left with any of the questions that the real book left. this seems more of a story written after the lifetime movie.

Good but distressing story

Greatly enjoyed this book. It evoked a great deal of emotion most of which was hate and disgust. The foreword for the book made me angry because it told some facts about the story that should have been left for the reader to discover! Why would you allow that??

Flowers in the Attic 40th Anniversary Edition

As much as I loved this book, I love it even more with Mena Suravi narrating it! In my opinion, she sounds more like how I always envisioned Cathy to sound. Alyssa Bresnahan did a good job narrating the first time, but I like this version way better.

Highly recommend audio

Narrator is perfection and makes the awful, salacious writing really enjoyable! Still couldn’t stop listening.

very intriguing story

believable, yet extraordinary set of circumstances.. excellent example of the power of material thinking, causes such bitter disintegration of core values.. Love no longer important to the pursuit of.. Things!

I loved it

This is the first bigger book a read back when I was 12. I’ve read it so many times. It was good to listen to it. I really really hope they release all the other books in the series.
