Description

From the New York Times best-selling author who “knows how to draw you in and keep you hooked” (Angela Graham, New York Times best-selling author) comes a compelling tale of family loyalty and budding romance starring the badass Clover Black as she is forced to choose between following her heart or keeping her family safe.

Growing up as the Princess of the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club, Clover Black knows she’s had a thoroughly unique upbringing. As the daughter of the former President of the club, she’s expected to live a certain kind of life but she does the unthinkable…she goes to the police academy and becomes a cop. Without her family knowing.

After being assigned a new partner, the handsome Felix Banks, a friendship blossoms, but as Felix teaches her how to be a better cop, she finds herself falling for him, all while struggling to keep her two lives separate. Tensions rise when the truth comes out and it becomes clear that Clover is being used for her motorcycle club ties.

As things heat up within the MC and at Clover’s job, she faces a difficult choice - her love for Felix and the law, or her family and the Wind Dragons. A steamy and unpauseable romance, Fallen Princess is perfect “for fans of Kristin Ashley, Julie Ann Walker, and Joanna Wylde, and those who are heartbroken that television’s Sons of Anarchy has ended” (Booklist).

Wind Dragons princess grows up

Clover, the baby that started the series, tries a career that causes her some problems but finds really good man in the process. Cute premise but slow going and predictable. The single point of view narration was acceptable if somewhat flat. Not terrible but certainly not inspiring which is what you would expect from the child of Sin and Fay who learned from all those Uncles and their fascinating women. It did leave the door open though for more from her generation but unless you have the escape package I would not bother.

Disappointed

I love the wdmc I have listen all the books twice rake redemption and trackers end 4 times then I listen to fallen princess. I thought clover would have been more bad ass rebellion as she was portraited in cursed raven Mc when she met Erin. The story line was disappointing the narration was disappointed. I felt like I wasted a credit purchasing this book. I read in the reviews that the book wasn't good but I was like it's the wdmc how could not be good. But yea it was a Hugh step down to the others.

What happened?!

I am a fan of this series and the author but this book wasn’t as good as the rest of the other books and the narrator OMG! To be honest wasn’t a big fan and changed a lot, the tone sounded forced and fake. I was looking foward to hear Chloe’s book but was so disappointed :(

Story was great but narration leads much to be desired

I liked the way Chantal Fernando ended the series. The story was enjoyable but the narration was painful at best. I actually thought of not listening to the monotone and lack of emotion several time but was so interested in finishing the story I persevered.

Just as good

Don’t believe the hype - this narrator is great, she gives this story more depth. I read other reviews and decided to listen anyway. I am so glade I did!

Not Bad But Not Great Either

The story is like a bowl of decent vanilla ice cream when you were expecting rocky road. Its still ice cream, but there is no chocolate or interesting additions to the party. The story isn't bad; its just vanilla. For me, a vanilla biker romance novel seems wrong. There are some good things about the story, but overall it doesn't add up to the others in the series.

Okay so here are the high points. First, I like the way Clover and the other kids developed into adults. Fernando also does a great job showing off the handful of old characters in this story as older and more settled without them losing the aspects of their personalities that I loved. Additionally, I like the initial development of Felix as Clover's love interest. He is exactly the type of person she needs. Their meeting on the job and working as partners had so much potential.

However, the story itself seemed to miss the mark for me. Here are my issues with the story. First, the story seemed rushed and slow at the same time. Its like Fernando glossed over a lot of aspects of the story I would have loved to see and focused on ones that should have been much shorter. Second, I loved how in all of the previous books except for the first one the story was told from both love interests. This issue may have been part of the story line issues. My next issue with the story is that we didn't get to know more about the old couples we loved. I understand that this wasn't their story but only a few of the kids were even mentioned. Here are a few instances, Vinnie's child isn't mentioned at all, it doesn't even say if Lana and Tracker ever had children, and Irish isn't even in the story. (Okay, being a complete nitpick, Fernando goes back and forth between calling one residence an apartment and a house interchangeably. Those are not the same thing.)

Also, I had some issues with the police situations, like the fact that no cop would go to raid a building without a bullet proof vest and most cops globally are required to wear body cameras at least some of the time. Furthermore, I have had this issue with Fernando throughout this series, she send out contradictory info and it makes me nuts. I know the author is from Australia and some of her references make it seem like it is supposed to be set there. Like in Tracker and Lana's story where she mentioned going to NYC like it was another country, and I know Fay has Vegemite for breakfast in the first book. However, I googled it and Australia's investigative bureau is NOT called the FBI.

Finally, I wasn't a big fan of Stephanie Rose being the narrator here. Clover is supposed to be a bada**. Rose just can't pull off that tone. She has to much of a sweet wilting flower vibe to her voice. I have listened to other books she has narrated where the main character is that sweet innocent type and it completely works with those books. For me if a narrator is good (like Sebastian York), I can get so lost in how they tell the story, I completely overlook some of the glaring issues that would make me crazy if I was reading the book. In this case, the way Rose read the story made all the issues more prominent and allowed my mind to wander enough that I started looking for flaws.

Overall, if you loved the original books and want a glimpse into how all the characters are years later, take a listen. Either get it on sale or use the Audible Escape package (I did the latter). I wouldn't pay much for this. However, if you need a story that is more in line with how great the other books in the series were skip it, and let the series end with the originals.

Really wish it was Eva Christensen narrated

I really love MC audiobook however I feel a narrator can really kill the story. Stephanie Rose isn’t bad but her tone doesn’t bring the story life.. I’ve listened to Chantal previous books and Eva Christensen is bad a$$ and wish she would continue to use her or even my all time fav is Andi Arndt and male Sabastian York

This would be a great movie!

Narrator’s over exaggerated tone made it a little hard to hear but the story was worth it. With a little more detail here and there it really makes me want to see it on the big screen!! The perfect way to end the story of the WDMC

Total disappointment

Absolutely loved all of the other books in this series. This book was so far fetched and just ridiculous. I couldn’t even finish it because it was making me roll my eyes more and more the farther I got into it. I wanted to like it so much, but I have to be able to relate to and believe the story I’m reading. And there was no way I could do that with this book.
