Histoire
History books don't always tell the whole story. Certainly there is no record of an episode that occurred when the Scots, led by Bonnie Prince Charlie, were defeated by the English at the battle of Culloden in 1746... And the presence at the time of a blue police box on the Scottish moors seems to have escaped the notice of most eye-witnesses.... The Highlanders sets the record straight. And while the incidents described may not be of great interest to historians, for Jamie McCrimmon they mark the beginning of a series of extraordinary adventures.

Description
Jon Culshaw reads this classic novelisation of Doctor Who's special 20th-anniversary TV adventure, featuring the Doctor in each of his first five incarnations.
Each one has been removed from his time-stream and - with one unfortunate exception - brought to the Death Zone on Gallifrey. There, they - along with an array of their loyal former companions - encounter numerous deadly obstacles including Daleks, Cybermen, Yeti, the Master and a fiendish set of puzzles. Who is the ultimate enemy they must all unite to defeat?
Based on Terrance Dicks's epic TV adventure, first broadcast in 1983, The Five Doctors offers listeners a chance to turn the clock back and meet some old friends - and some old enemies.

Amazing voices
The story is well known to Whovians of a certain age, and this edition does not disappoint. Very much a novelization of the on-air episode. The very best thing about this audiobook is the narrator who is able to give voice to each Doctor just about spot on in timbre and intonation. It was so easy to believe the actual actors were voicing their roles. The male companions were also very faithful, leaving only the female characters as standing out as being voiced by another. Still, the male narrator captured the essence of each female companion enough so that the spell was not broken too much. Well done! A wonderful addition to my Doctor Who audiobook collection.
